MY gf and i have a bet so instead of just being the guy i should be and just saying okay honey yes honey i need to find out some facts. LOL.

Isn't there an entire section on TTORA dedicated to this subject?

is your truck a prerunner?? if so i think it shouldn't be to difficult. not sure if they run the same tranny as a 4x4 but if so then i would think you'd have to remove the tail housing off the tranny, bolt on tcase. then bolt in the front axle, change out the hubs and add the cv axles, drive shafts. the tricky part would be all the wiring for the ADD and the tcase... not sure if they prewire a prerunner with all that stuff and just leave out the actual switches/boxes or if you'd have to run all the wiring.

    Pretty much stock
if you have a 1st gen you can put an atlas 2 speed manual transfer case in pretty easily...long as its a prerunner, that way you can bypass all the electronics.

I'd sell the truck and just get a 4x4. Much easier in the long run :)
