1997 t4r has super duty axles, 5.13s locked front and rear. 3 link front with 14" kings. Rear 63s.
Took it to the dealer for oil change and tire rotation, wasted my day off sitting there. Have complained about the handling of the truck since the first service, and had a rear drum turned with 4k on the clock. I am getting vibs in my seat when I brake so means rear drum. Steering is very touchy feels like I have a old truck with bump steer sometimes and they could not make it do either so I was told nothing is wrong. Asked to have the seat belt beep disabled and was told no, its a liability and no dealer would turn it off. I called Toyota corp and talked with a rep, the book says its a setting that is customizable and was informed its for Canada not America. I called another dealer and they will disable it no questions asked for 55 bucks and 30 minutes.

Sorry I was heated after a 4 hour sit at the dealer and will never go back to Lakeland Toyota where I have bought 2 Tacoma trd's one off road and my sport. /end rant

So I'm driving home, get out of town, start speeding up and the truck just starts shaking. Let off the gas and it goes away. Push it again, bad vibes. Awesome. I honestly thought I was going to have to pull the driveshaft, drive home in 4WD and change a u-joint.

I stopped at an empty parking lot and crawled under it as soon as I could. I work back to front, checking the joints, nothing is loose other than the play in the center bearing rubber... I suppose a joint could be binding-- hey wait a minute, what's that?! On the rear section of the shaft, between the gas tank and the muffler, on the top side of the fat tube behind the slip yoke, there's a big ol' buildup of ice. Almost a half an inch thick, nearly-clear ice on the driveshaft as long as a football. WTF!

So ten minutes later after some careful work with a screwdriver, I was back on the road and vibe-free.

I honestly don't know how that happened. The melting snow must have dripped down just perfectly to refreeze on it sometime today because it was just fine this morning.
