I'm never a big fan of the black rims but with the pyrite color, it goes hand in hand

I've never played with Dynamat before, very slow process. It seems like I started this project weeks ago while I wait in line for my Mr Marv speakers & enclosure.

Today I got the two front doors deadened & used Ensolite over that. Not going with a crazy system so I'm sure I laid enough Dynamat. Also did the stock tweeter mod someone posted.

I love the fact and appreciate your work +1.
But, I have to say it and forgive me but, this just does not appear to be the safest place nor well thought out for a propane tank. I suspect and am ready to take a reasonable post beating for my opinion but...why there?
    :)

Traditionally, In an expedition vehicle, the tanks are mounted on the back farthest away from driver in the open air. This is a safety thing. If it leaks, it is leaking out in the open air vs an enclosed environment. If ignition occurs, you still have distance and open air on your side. While still catastrophic, safer than in the cab, or in the bed.

Alternate mounting places are on top of the vehicle on the roof rack with a special mounting system.

There was a pic a couple years of an FJ exploding. Owner had some sort of gas canister that leaked in it and BOOM. Ripped the roof right off the mutha.

Yep, clearly it is not a full time expo and my concern would be other drivers and the liability of a rear impact. But, I assume it would not be mounted 100% of the time.
It was just a passing thought. I applaud OP's work. No worries.

Believe me. I don't like it mounted there either. Same goes for rear mounted fuel cans. I have been racking my brain for locations for Propane(LP) and Petrol ideal mounting locations.

Decided I was going to get the Long Ranger Extended 35gal fuel tank and a DOT approved under vehicle mounted Propane tank. That is, when the budget allows. Or necessity takes over.

As for fuel cans themselves. I still have mine roof mounted. Again, not the safest location, but better than the rear.

I have been rear ended 4 times in the last calendar year. Hitch saved me twice, left and right side of the stock bumper took its beatings the other 2 times. One more time and I'll actually get that plate bumper sooner than expected ;)

Chris, just out of curiosity, where would you have mounted it? Not being a smart ass, implying malice, or a rhetorical question. Am genuinely interested in your perspective.

I don't know his truck or his needs well enough.
Mine? In my bed or on the underside of the bed rack. But, maybe it is just my ocd screaming containment.
That being said, enthusiasts are forever mounting the on the sides of off road trailers such as the Chaser with absolutely no issues.

You have a truck.... put it in the back corner of the bed and tie it down then it can't bounce off of that poll amd into following vehicles. if you are worried about it leaking then get a hose off of a grill and screw it onto the tank and run it up your top rack to vent it.
