Started work on a grill emblem from MetalMiller.

Received a grill emblem from Jeff, MetalMiller. To continue with my Texas Edition theme I ordered the state of Texas shaped emblem. A few years back I picked up the Texas Edition State badge when I was at the dealer with my son, I never used it as a could not find a suitable location for it. When I received the grill emblem form Jeff, remarkably the badge is the exact size and shape. I had the state portion milled out so the badge will sit flush or near flush, didn't want to remove to much metal and weaken the emblem. Anyone that has one of these emblems knows they come in a unfinished condition. As it sits, I have about 10 hours in the sanding and polishing, a couple more hours and I will send it off to the plater to do the final prep and chrome plating. I will post up another picture when completed.

Washed it yesterday as well as shop vac'd inside.

Today my dad and I changed out 7 lug nuts that were messed up from Discount Tire's work. Two were so bad we had to use a 22mm to get them off. I was glad we did it. If I had a flat there would have been no way I could have gotten my passenger side front tire off.

    All is good now!

This is scary:eek:. I always watch to see they start lug nuts by hand and do not start them with the air gun. Sometimes they give me a hard time and a line about some insurance B.S. Then I just move a little. We have a tire dealer on TW and I think I will use him when I need them.
Nice to be able to work on the truck with your dad IMHO.

Thanks man! He's got every Snap On tool imagineable so we were well equipped. I should dig the two lug nuts out of the trash and post on here. They were HORRIBLE!

4hrs? I don't think I was there that long when I bought mine. Is this what I have to look forward too for the "free" oil change?

It happens. In fact, it'll happen faster if you ever use the lug wrench that comes in the truck from the factory. The factory lug nuts are cheap garbage. There's a solid lug nut inside the outer shell. The outer shell that you see is just spot welded (or glued, or something similar) at the base while there's air between it and the real lug nut underneath under the rest of it. This outer shell is very flimsy and will warp over time. It can easily happen changing a tire on the side of the road leaving you stranded. I had half a dozen outer shells come off and 2 lug nuts where I had to pound a bigger socket onto them to get them off. The best thing to do is hit up ebay to get a whole new set because those are all 1-piece and a much higher quality. They're rock solid.

Installed my Drawtite hitch today, minus one bolt, lol! Ran out of time but I'll get to it next weekend (I won't be towing before then).

    Extra parts are bad.
