So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Did the hose clamp-tail gate mod to slow down the dirt bags.

Gave the beast a little TLC today. This post may be big cuz I'm still all revved up.

    ***

First, re-torqued the axle u-bolts. That absolutely freaked me out. If you haven't checked yours yet, do it!

Driver's side, not too bad. One needed a quarter turn to get to spec.

Passenger's side, front u-bolt was fine. Rear needed 3 1/2 revolutions on the outer nut and 4 revolutions for the inner one. The thing was freaking LOOSE! I was starting to wonder if I was going to experience that horrible feeling that immediately follows the snap of a stretched bolt. I honestly am probably going to replace them anyways thanks to that scare.

    ***

Next I changed the rear diff fluid. I was going to do both front and rear (book said 3.12qt rear and 1.59qt front, so I purchased 5 qts) but alas it was not to be. Drained old fluid out which drained like dino 80w90- the stuff was thick even when hot- and found a big ol 1/4" chunk of casting remnant from the drain plug magnet when cleaning it. Got to filling - 1 qt, 2 qt, 3 qt, should be about done, right? NO. Dumb pig was a HOG and wasn't up to level until it consumed a whopping 3.7 quarts. That's what a 5 lug is supposed to take !!

Time to order up a spare quart so I can do the front. Per the owner's manual recommendation, this is what went in:

    3428359d_39d73e080323d4882e98e29e20e9af5bca239b73.jpg

As always time will tell, but there is definitely a feeling of drag lost. When I left the pole barn the UG read 12.8 gal fuel trip, avg of 21.8 mpg, and trip distance of 275 miles. When I got home it read 13.7 gal fuel trip, avg of 22.1 mpg, and trip distance of 304 miles. It's not hard to see the trend here but I'll keep no assumptions until some real averages get into the books.

    ***

Took some rust pictures for all y'all who have never lived in the snow/salt belt. This is a 2009 with 38k miles. So how many are making the  face lol

B.A.M.F. CMC plates intalled. Beat back and resealed the pinch weld. Plan on trimming some more of the fender flares. It seems no matter what i do im rubbing somewhere once i hit the trails.

I also jumped on the GB for B.A.M.F. LCA skid plates. These things are Beefy as F#$% and cheap as heck (136 bucks shipped with a 1/25 shot at getting them free if the GB gets to 50). I just can't see any down side to having these on my truck.

    here is the thread

Powered by one tailgate mounted CFM56–7 engine. The engine is a dual–rotor, axial–flow turbofan engine capable of producing 27,000lbs of thrust. Why yes, my tailgate is slightly bowed in.
Installed two Oznium High-Intensity LED Lights under the hood.
