Had T-SB- 0373-09 ECM Calibration Enhancement to Shifting Performance
& Smoothness done on my 2009 Tacoma (4000 miles). Seems to have helped the shifting problem with the rpm's going way up when slowing
down in a turn then getting back on the gas. The dealer tells me the computer now has to lean how I drive. Had this done about two weeks
ago the problem seems to be coming back. When getting on the gas from a stop the engine is very whinie sounding, I have had better sounding
4 cylinder vechicals. I'am very dissipointed. Any one else having this
problem? What does the dealer mean the computer has to learn how I
    drive? Thank You

not to many, love it the way it is
My tsb re-cab is not seeming to hold either. have noticed the 1st and 2nd gear revving engine syndrome creeping back in.

the vehicles computer now adjusts its "make it go " mechanisms to the drivers' driving habits. in a way it will be able to predict how you will drive and adjust the "make it go" computer chips for best performance of your engine. if you are bi polar then forget about it, the computer will go loony bin on you constantly adjusting until the point of insanity..

Experienced the same problem and the dealership said new TSB called to add additional transmission fluid, which they did Friday 11-Dec.
Will know if the problem is fixed by next week with more driving.

Also requested the TSB 0305-08 Retro for heavier springs and was denied by the dealership and Toyota USA saying it only applied to 05-08 vehicles.
I intend to fight them on that issue.

I was driving around in my '05 the other night and purposely tried to get it to lag and rev like people describe. No luck - couldn't get the truck to do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding it seems that when you slow from normal driving at say a yield sign or something, don't totally stop, but get on the gas again the engine revs to 4K or so and then engages into second gear instead of first?

I tried this a dozen or so times the other night with varying amounts of throttle and couldn't replicate it. Truck seemed to hold second gear and accelerate smoothly from a slow. Obviously though enough throttle would cause a 1st gear downshift - but it never hesitated between the two.
