So, like other threads I see here who have experienced the same. I too experienced a ticking from the driver side of the engine.
I never had a tick in my Honda. Just the valves happily ticking, but this was appropriate.
The Toyota tick was more pronounced while accelerating between 20-40 mph at a mild acceleration rate.
So, took it to Toyota, and as other threads they came to the same conclusion.
Everything within normal limits.
I suppose it's OK, but will just have to take their word on it. Heard about the silicone O ring trick, but also read it wasn't that which caused the tick.
Also heard about the thicker manifold, but that, that won't stop it either.
