Thought it was slushy, not icy. Whoops.

Started fishtailing, slid off gently into the ditch. Then dug myself in really bad, spent two hours trying a couple different ways to get parallel to the road again before some kindly old man who was coming back from hunting stopped by.

Probably could have driven out of it if, when I first hit the ditch, I had paused for a second to look at my options.

naw, no way of driving out of that.
You were on your frame, no traction in the front, and the light ass end on ice.
Good thing for the old man.

Looks like he was going forward a little, hard to tell whats in front of him though. Some tires with tread might have helped, still hard to say when he's on the frame, definitely wasn't backing out of that though. This is all assuming he's 4WD.
Sucks man, at least theres no damage. Check the bolts on the bottom of the frame though, I noticed they can get ripped off if you drag it. We didn't get any of that shittay weather here fortunately, but I would like to see some snow stick for more than 2 hours!

Is your Taco OK? It doesn't get any better than eight wheel drive to get unstuck.
