Anyone debaged to "Taco" or "Coma"

I just want to be creative and fun while doing my debadge.

Was wondering the best way to debadge to either of the two variations of Tacoma to Taco or coma.

What's the best way to cut off the attached unwanted letters?

Taco has been done.
Coma, I would not do. If you where in a bad wreck the irony would be to much.

^Yeah, kind of like driving a KIA (Killed In Action). I could never own one for that reason alone.

Wow! I got a good laugh out of that. True true.

Don't want to end up on Ogrish.com

I'll go with to Total debadge, so the police can't write my make and model which will make me totally immune to speeding tickets.

Yeah I know. It's a joke. They can write you a citation, commonly referred to as a "ticket" with only the vin and no registration.

I'm going to practice this now....

One blonde says to the other one on a different side of a river, "Hey come to the other side".

The other blonde says, "I am on the other side"

OK, I think I bloody well learned it.

I think it'll look best totally debadged. I'm going to do mine this summer when its really hot to help get the stuff off. The hardest part will be the TRD Sport sticker, I might have that done by someone though. Are you going to use dental floss or fishing line?

I just debadged my Taco and it couldnt be any easier, for the decals I used a heat gun and held it 5-7" away from the paint and once you get a corner of the decal up it will pull right off, the key is to keep it warm with the heat gun or blow dryer.

Then to take off the emblems I used Fireline I used 4lb test, but if I had to do it again I would use like 8 or 10lb test, the fireline worked real well because it is real slick almost like a wax coating, just heat the badges up and then take the line wrap it around your fingers a couple of times and work it up and down in a sawing motion. Wear some gloves when using the line as it will leave your fingers a little sore. All in all it took me about 45 min to debadge the truck.

On a side note there is a guy on TN that is doing custom decals for the Tacos, his user name is Sockmonkey, he is making some real nice decals, I just installed a set of max4 camo ones he made for me.

OK, i'll take from your experiences. I'm using the 10 lb fire line. Dental floss breaks too easily.

the decals I just took off on a whim on a cool day. They did break several times, but caught an edge with my fingernail.

Will wash today and polish it all out.

Thanks all.

One way to debadge the tailgate is to have a drunk illegal alien rearend you at a red light. That's what I did and I found this method to be very effective.

I've thought about painting mine pink for the humor value, but I hate pink and I don't know how many people would actually get it....

I know what you mean about the pink taco joke because my mind is always there, but I'd be afraid someone thought I was from West Hollywood.

They'd think Gay Taco. Which I clearly don't want.

I pulled off the left tailgate toyota badge just now. Took longer than I thought.

I'm going to try the plastic spatula next to see if it works faster.

DO you think a prespray with WD 40 will get it off faster and not hurt the paint?

Did you heat it up? Use a hair dryer or heat gun (just keep it moving so you don't bubble the paint), and the plastic scraper.

I used a hair dryer and plastic scraper to debadge my car. Some people use fishing line, but I find it easier to heat as I go and use a scraper.

Someone on here has some pretty nasty pictures of scratches from using a spatula or something like it so be careful or just don't be in such a rush.
