Anyone used this electronic "rust proofing" method?

i don't use it but before anyone says it a bunch of shit. metal ships use the same method to prevent rust, we call it cathodics at work it basically sends an electric current into the water to prevent different parts of the hull from becoming anodes and cathodes basically the pos+ and neg- side of a battery and turns the whole hull into a cathode so it does not rust.

 

It works for buildings, ships, and bridges but is a crock for a vehicle. Why? The vehicle isn't grounded due to riding on 4 rubber tires. Google it.

The body man at my FIL garage had a late model Silverado in the paint booth this past spring with a unit installed. We get allot of road salt here so the owner thought it would be a fine investment. The only place that wasn't rusted on the chassis was where he removed the control box - the rest of the frame was like a ships anchor.

 

My thoughts as well. Now if you dragged a chain behind you grounding the chassis...
