tires?

05 Tacoma DC TRd sport super white short bed. Stock prerunner height.
I plan on replacing those weak Bridgestone duelers tires with BFG All-Terrain. My truck height is still stock so should i go with stock tires specs or plus size tires? and white wall out or black wall out? so basicaly
265/65/17
265/70/17

Hey TRDsport253, I would like to jump on this one with the same question. I am also looking to upgrade my Taco with bigger tires on my stock steelies(16x7 with 245/75/17) with the BFG All-T's. I have already ordered a set of 4 billies for a tad of clearance, what is the biggest i could go without rubbing?
This are the sizes I got from the local BFG:
265/70/16
265/75/16
275/70/16

My understanding is 265/75/16 is the largest you can go without a lift. I am ordering some in this size next week. I just haven't decided between Duratrac and BFG TA/KO which is what I have on my other trucks.

 

265/75/16 is the largest that you can go without rubbing...it is a 31.6 inch tire. Your stocks are 30.6

285/75/16 is what most people run to get that nice big tire...which is 32.7 inches in Diameter...Most have rubbing issues with this size

And 265/75/16 is actually bigger than 275/70/16...so jump up to 285/75/16.

 

... but a 275/70/17 is right in the middle and BFG offers this size now.. its a 32.15"x 10.82".. great compromise between the 285's and 265's most are running

 

How do you figure the 265's are bigger than the 275's?

Okay,
By the numbers, compared to stock the 265/75R16's are 1.18 inches bigger in overall diameter; 275/70R16's are 1.18 inches larger in section width. Will any of these have any rubbing issues? Also is the rubbing attributed to the width or height or both?
