Last night I picked up my first Toyota. A silver 2007 Tacoma TRD long bed, with the JBL sound system. I loved the ride home.

I traded in a 2009 Ford Ranger with 4,400 miles on it to get this. Best thing I have ever done automotive wise. I have had three Rangers and a F150 in the past, and none felt as good as this truck did on the ride home.

I have been watching this forum for a month or so and used what I read here on making my decision as to model and year. Loved the long bed vs short bed topic.

Question: I was installing the sliding bed tie downs and noticed they would be real easy to steal. Does this happen often? Should I keep them inside the truck until I need them?

    Pictures will be coming later.

Congrats! I have the same year and love this truck. As for the tie downs, I think you are ok with leaving them.

Congrats! I don't think you would have an issue with the tie downs. Unless there is a Tacoma owner who really needs extra tie downs. But I think you should be safe there. But for your security, you could keep them inside the cab of the truck. IMO.

    None yet! It's new!
Well, it's my view that they're too expensive to leave out in the open. Dealers are asking $50 EACH for them around here in the N.W. I just keep mine in a bag, along with assorted tie-downs, in one of the storage bins inside the cab.

Congrats on the early Christmas present. My first truck was a 04 Ford Ranger. I loved the truck but it had its time and place. I am sure you will have your mod list soon if you already don't have one. :taco:

I agree 100%...this place is a drug...I have done way too much in the first couple of months and saving to get more.

Note: I was completely happy with stock on and off road. If I was not a memeber here it would still sit that way.
