Extended Tacoma Warranty Not So Good

    I submit that your comment is propably appropriate for the V6 but the 30,000 and 60,000 service described in the Owners Manual for the I4 is essentially change the oil, rotate the tires, change the filter for the air conditioner that's located in the glove compartment and check fittings, brakes, etc.. The plugs and the transmission fluid are rated for 100,000 miles and there are no zerks to lubricate. I am driving an '09 and do not plan to pay hundreds of dollars for that service. The dealer will try to sell me a fuel system treatment that I won't need since Shell is the only gas I put in the truck.

    As for extended warranties:

    If they didn't make money on them they wouldn't sell them. Put the cost in a CD and pull it out if you need to make a serious repair.

    yea go to a different dealer.

    My transmission went out after I, well, uh, uh, I plead the 5th on that one; but Toyota replaced it under the extended warranty with no problems.
