It was close a few times. Hospt 4 times. Kerry type, band aid, wounds were fixed at Batt. aid. It was quite a ride while it lasted. No Purple Heart without hospt. I had 32 stitches from an Batt. E-6 medic and went on patrol a few hours later.
He did a better job than an M. D. would have. A very different Army. I read in Army Mag. that some Combat Engineers, Navy and AF are being Inf. trained. We do not have the resources to protect you anymore. Just having a rifle does not make you a rifleman. Much less an effective fire team or squad member. If Fred Weyand had not sent the 3 /4 Cav., to Saigon, Tet `68 may have turned out differently. The clerks and MP`s had weapons. But they did not know Inf. tactics. Platoons were generally provided for security for engineers. Of course, we did our own EOD in the field. You can`t wait for the engineers. We packed C-4. Tank road blocks would get a squad. Pretty good duty. They had goodies that Lt. Inf. could not carry if they had them. |

OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer; any company which sells after aftermarket parts and accessories (like URD, K&N, etc.) Close...but this is the true meaning of OEM Automobile industry OEMs are the industry's brand name auto manufacturers, such as General Motors, Ford, Toyota, etc. The OEM definition in the automobile industry constitutes a federally-licensed entity required to warrant and/or guarantee their products, unlike "aftermarket" which is not legally bound to a government-dictated level of liability. OEMs also apply to component manufacturers, such as Bosch, BBS, NGK, Pagid, Ferodo, etc. Identical products, such as spark plugs, may be supplied though official franchised dealers in appropriately branded packaging (Volkswagen, General Motors, etc). The same product may be supplied through general auto retail outlets (in the UK - Halfords, A1 Motor Stores, etc), or 'trade' motor factors (UK - Euro Car Parts, APD) in the manufacturer's original branded packaging. URD, K&N are not OEM products. |
