I had my TSB done because I haul things regulary and plan to tow with my Taco. I was just helping those who are having problems with the dealership.

Call the Toyota 800# and speak with them that was how I got it done and many others on here after failed attempts at dealers.Do a search on Harsh ride to find the # as it has been posted many times before.Just dont be an ass and get demanding it does not help your case.Good luck

That's fine, they've hit about a couple hundred times over the last few years so that should've been proof enough.

Does anyone know if they would deny the TSB because the vehicle is leased?

do not give up. I got denied the first try and came back for the shifting tsb and the rear tsb. The second time they did both. I only notice 3 leaf springs but I know they did it. It still has the new stickers on them.

You may want to verify the part numbers on the 3-leaf springs. Some folks on here have had the TSB done, only to find out the dealer had installed a new set of 3-leaf springs. In those instances, the trucks were taken back to the dealer for a re-do. Check the part numbers on the TSB for the new 4-leaf springs and verify that you received what is due to you.

My dealer was great about it and my truck did the same as Wilson's. Loaded with a couple of normal size teenagers & adults plus weekend camping gear the truck bottomed out. Even after the upgrade leaf pack settles, it still isn't that great, but at least they fixed it. I always feel the truck rides better with a little weight in the back imo.

Good luck Wilson, I am sure corporate will take care of business for ya, its a shame it has to come to that sometimes......

x2 on the "HarshRide". Those are the magic words that you have to use. Those are the exact words on the TSB. Tell them if they value you as a customer they better quit jerkin you around.

Question, does one have to have a factory warranty to be able to get the rear tsb done? What about an extended warranty? Thanks in advance

    Factory warranty.

I am amazed how many people/threads there are saying this is a hassle. My dealer agreed to it over the phone.

You're one of the lucky ones. I have had my truck since november 08, and ive been trying to get this done since then. My truck is an 09, but a bunch of people on here have been getting it done on their 09's hell even 2010 models. For me it's been like squeezing blood out of a rock, and im still squeezing for blood. I've been to 8 dealers and I have a case number from Toyota.

I just bought my taco used, 2006 DC PreRunner SR5, 71,850 miles. It's certified pre-owned. So I have the extended warranty for the drivetrain until 100,000 miles AND I have a 3 month/3,000 mile comprehensive warranty. Should I be eligible for the "Harsh Ride" TSB? Just a note... I noticed yesterday a noise coming from my back right wheel area... When I got home from the office, I looked at the springs (3 leaf) and then pushed the back tire with my hand back and forth... There was a loud creaking noise. I'm pretty sure that noise isn't normal.

Holy cow. I've been denied by 2 dealers, but I was able to get the transmission TSB taken care of at the 2nd place.

I just talked to my dealership about the TSB. The service manager was off today so I will call back tomorrow.

I did, however, make the point with the tech that I was going to have this done, whatever it may take.

    That includes:

    1) Calling corporate to "expedite" the process.
    2) loading up the bed with whatever amount of weight it requires to get the desired result.

I also mentioned that to go through the dog-and-pony-show to get this done would not do anything to make my customer experience a positive one. I informed him that Canadian trucks have 4 leafs to start, and I am disappointed I spent 30K for a truck that does not perform like my Nissan hardbody and Titan performed.

From that point on, he was on my side. I'll see what happens when I call back tomorrow and speak with the service manager.

I think the key to getting this done with minimal aggravation is to let them know you are GETTING THIS DONE, WHATEVER IT TAKES.

None of the dealerships want corporate involvement. Just have a plan when you call them and don't back down.

I'll post the results after I talk with them.
