Changing oil, picked up Napa Gold #1348. Is not the same size as the Toyota filter that is on there now. Went back to the store and the guy cross referenced the number with the one on my Toyota filter, and it says it is the right one. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I actually can't for certain confirm it, but I can say that number sounds very familiar, and I just looked in my maintenance spreadsheet notes and saw I did my first oil change with a Napa filter and I also noted it was smaller than the OEM filter.

The Napa filter you have should work. It's a shorter version of the filter that came with your truck. If you want a taller filter try the Napa gold 1516 filter.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would 1.) Invite you guys to read the oil filter cross section and test thread that indicates that the yzzd3 OEM filter is not only the best but the cheapest, and 2.) Let you know that Walmart carries the OEM genuine Toyota oil filters and they are cheaper than anywhere I have seen online and I believe cheaper than the dealership. That's Walmart for ya. Good day!

I've heard enough bad things about Napa gold to stay clear of them. :)

FWIW my local Walmart had Toyota OEM filters when I went. Super convenient.

That thread is worthless and does NOTHING to assess actual filter efficiency. It’s a bad as the YouTube filter reviews.

I’m not suggesting that the OEM filter is bad - just that the assessment provided was totally worthless.
