Has anyone made the yellow part of parking lights flash with blinker so it can be seen from the side? kinda like euro side lights on volkswagen? I came up with this idea after almost getting tee boned 3 times at a weird intersection.

It would look pretty lame from front seeing two blinkers

Not if you want to be seen. Most vehicles are this way. The turn signal location on the Tacoma is retarded, just like the lack of full time daytime headlights. Fix 'er up and then tell us how.

I would put an LED board behind it, but I don't like how it looks.

To alert drivers in your blind-spot of your intentions to change lanes, the Muth (muthco.com) "turn-signal" side mirrors ($239) are a good safety addition for the Tacoma. You can also kill two birds with one stone & get the heated version ($289). The heated option requires their "HMOD Upgrade Module" ($69). But a better solution is to buy a Highlander Heated Mirror switch (84871-48030, $69). This switch fits exactly into any unused switch bay in the Tacoma and has a built-in 15 min timer that works similiar to a defroster.

Good job SoCalR  This mod has been around for a while and can be found in the Cheap/free mods thread.

It's called the "Parking lights as turn signals"

I can't believe you guys that said no and nope. If you don't know then say you don't know...

No problem. Only reason I knew what you were asking is because I look through the "Cheap and Free Mods" thread almost on a daily basis (its the tacoma newb in me) to see what else I want/can do. I love cheap and free mods. :D

When your finished with the mod, please let us know how it works. I've considered doing that mod myself. That one seems to be well documented with a circuit diagram.

Side note: There is a "Fog on anytime mod" that people have been performing for some time. I was interested but there was no circuit diagram for it. It's hard to believe so many people did the mod on faith alone. Yes it works, but understanding why it works can be even more important. I personally refuse to do any electrical mods unless I clearly understand exactly what it is that I'm doing.

Long story short It took me a few hours to find 3 separate factory circuit diagrams before I figured out exactly what people were doing.

In the spirit of TW, I built a diagram for it for everyone to benefit and posted it.

When I first joined TW, I did the exact same thing. I spent a lot of time in that thread, reading, consuming, doing. :D There is a wealth of knowledge and information there. :)

I'm a safety nerd and I wish federal law mandated all new cars have turn signal indicators on the side view mirrors. It's old technology now and should be standard.

Yeah I see what your saying and I agree but a lot of car companies dont want to spend that extra money for options like that.
