Great post mountain lion. I have been an Allison Heavy/Medium truck tech pretty much all my working life. The total flush you describe is how it has been done since the creation of the slush box it's self. Thanks for adding instructions on the little idiosyncrasy's of the Toyota system. People do not waste your money on the dealership flush. Follow mountain lions instructions and do it yourself. I used Valvoline Max Life full synthetic trans fluid. It says right on the jug it is recommended for Toyota's calling for WS oil. I found the oil at my local Wal-Mart for under 17 dollars a gallon. Believe me, your trans needs a good flush every 50 to 60 thousand miles. Dirty/burnt oil is a tranny killer...

Klipp 11 - You are on of the lucky ones, a man who can take his dip stick in his hand and not worry about all of the other B.S. Follow the first part of mountain lions directions. Drain tans and replace drain plug. Roughly re-fill the sump with what you drained. Dis-connect "from cooler" line from trans and attach whatever you need to get it into a marked jug. Start and run truck until you have run as much oil into the jug as you added in the initial re-fill. Stop engine and repeat this process as many times as needed. When oil coming from the "from cooler" line is as clean as it was when you added it to the sump, re-connect the "form cooler" line and top of trans sump(Engine running). Your slush box will love you long time for showing her this TLC.

Just started this guide for my 05 V8 RWD Tow Package. Here is the color of the 3 qts that came out. Hasn't been touched for 124 K miles due to multiple Toyota dealerships saying it's sealed for life and shouldn't be touched (no towing). Is the color due to a different spec of ATF or is that just how it looks from the mileage? It still smells sweet.

I would just do a drain and refill until close to 100K, just my opinion if you don't tow or haul heavy loads a lot.

No the trans pumps fluid out, it does not suck it in.
Not even if you run the truck in reverse..

    ??
You can't use the trans to pull fluid in, use gravity, or some other pump to put it back in.

No. The trans only pushes out.. The second line has no suction.

Sorry but it doesn't work that way. But hey it's your transmission.

    ^^
Feel free to try but before you potentially screw up your truck poke a bunch of holes in a jug and try to suck the liquid out the top...
We're not blowing smoke, it's been tested and doesn't work.

I also caution you to read this entire thread because obviously you missed the dozens, myself included, that have asked this exact question.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread yet or not but...

DO NOT SHUT THE TRUCK OFF WITH THE LEVEL CHECK PLUG OUT

I made that mistake yesterday :D

My transmission must have been a bit low from the factory as I'm fairly certain I put a bit more in than I pumped out but didn't get a trickle when I checked the level.
I turned the truck off to add some and it started pouring out of the level check hole.

Fortunately, I had a pan under there, I caught it quick, and I had enough fluid left over to fill it to the correct level.
