What kind do you have on your taco? I am looking for an exhaust tip for mine, I am kind of tired at looking at the OEM one how it is now. I'd like to get a chrome one and match it up with the rear bumper I have.

I had a Tacoma Stainless exhaust tip for a while. It fit perfectly.

Pardon me for being an old guy again... I just don't get the exhaust tip thing. What the hell good does it do? They're obviously fake (like our hood scoops) because 6 or 8 inches further up, you can see the plain stainless pipe. Why would anyone spend the ridiculous amount of money that they ask for these things?! One came on my FJ and the first day I had it, I took it off and tossed it in my workshop. I don't like fake stuff... if it did something, I'd leave it on there. There. I said my piece. That's been raging inside me for years.... :) Time to go calm down now. Whew.

    No harm meant. :)

I wouldn't pay the money for it... But I had the truck come in from out of town, and it came with the skid plate, vent visors, and the exhaust tip but the dealer wasn't aware of those being on there... Since the mixup, he offered the 3 accessories ($300 value) to me for $70, so I took it.

no harm taken. I understand what you mean, it kind of like when I learned that you can put a hole in your OE intake hose, which makes that noise like your do have a custom intake but you really don't. Although that was more stupid as well as risking damage.

I'm doing this for me really, it's something to hold my thoughts about my truck down until I finish my Blazer (I usually switch around on which vehicle I am working on, lately I've been spending more time on the Taco than I do with my Blazer). I really should have kept my old Magnaflow exhaust, chucked it into the trash too soon.

Does the OEM exhaust outlet do anything?? No different than the shiny one. Therefore it's all about looks and that's it. Not everything has function on our vehicles. So I say, go for it and enjoy the look w/o expecting extra functionality.

If you want it then buy it; I did and love my stainless TRD (I think) tip; got it online for $40, went on easy and I really like the look. Completes the look of the truck IMO. Check my pics, I must have one in there that shows the tip on it. : )

Ok. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade at all - and I don't mean to if I am. I don't get the whole "chrome exhaust tip" thing. You look at them and you know they're fake. It's obvious that the real exhaust tip comes out there and somebody has screwed on this extra piece of chrome that's also obviously bigger than the real pipe is and it's totally non-functional (kind of like our hood scoops). Why?! Who the hell cares what an exhaust tip looks like, especially if it's fake?

My FJ Cruiser came with a "dealer-installed" chrome tip that, according to the sticker, cost something like $70!! I was just too tired to argue with them about it. The first mod to my FJ was to remove that ugly thing and toss it on my workbench, where it still sits to this day. It is not going on any vehicle of mine because it's fake. Both my Toyotas sport the factory stainless steel exhaust tip (which is just the regular pipe!), which is pretty damn good quality anyway, and it's not fake!

Someone please enlighten me. (yes, the fake hood scoop pisses me off too, but it's harder to remove!). My flame-shields are up! No harm meant and it's all in fun, and simply my own (perhaps misguided) opinion! :)

Oh.. my stock mud guards are still on too! They work!
