DCSB 4X auto. Stock except for TRD exhaust and charcoal filter removed. 3600 mi still on conventional oil with first oil change at 2100mi. Last 2 fill ups 22.89 and 23.15 city driving. I try to keep the revs under 2K RPM and time the lights. I get a lot of raging passers sometimes cause I dont go hard off the light but 90% of the time, they see me smiling at them at the next light. Its worth it to me cause I've seen a $40-50 drop in my gas bill from my lifted 05 Prerunner 6spd which was averaging 18-19MPG. BFG all terrains were great but had a lot of rolling resistance.

HWY driving is not as efficient. One road trip averaging under 22 going down in elevation and around 21 coming back up. This is with the AC on and doing between 75-80MPH. Trucks are like bathtubsaerodynamically.

I'm averaging about 20mpgs over the life of my truck so far. My sig has my fuel ups. I have had a topper on it for 97% of the miles and rock sliders for about 30%. I dive like a granny though and try to cruise at ~65mph on the highways. 70mph if it's a high speed limit highway.

Check my Fuelly signature. Winter was a bit rough on my mileage but I'm hitting 22+ now. Mostly country 55+ mph roads with a little suburbs mixed in.

Filled up this morning after errands. I was hoping to hit 28mpg but fell just shy... Not to bad for a 4x4 v6 though ;) I'm hoping to hit 30mpg after I'm done modding.

19.9 on the last fill up, not bad considering the only driving on that tank was 5 days of my 30 mile commute over at 10k foot mountain pass.

OK you don't have a second gen..... That's a little more plausible. As those years had 3.73 or 3.90 gears and my dads 04 with 410s could grab 22 pretty easy on the hwy.

I am intrigued at some pics of your "coroplast under panels.

Anyone that toots their horn about getting anywhere close to 20 mpg with mixed city/hwy driving is HIGH. I'm averaging 17-18 mpg with a light foot on the gas pedal. Go out on the road straight and level and you can top 21. It's a truck. If you can't forget about getting good mileage go buy a Prius or TDI. Just don't expect to haul anything :)

And 2wd vs 4wd makes quite a bit of difference.

I plan on redoing what's done in white in black later on.

Not sure if serious... my goal is 30 for this next tank. I'm running ethanol free 91 octane and this will be my first tank with the underbelly completed. I also just put taller/narrower/lighter tires on that will save 64lbs of rotational mass and drop my revs slightly.

Indeed. I would probably be aiming for 35mpg if I had a 4 cylinder 2wd Taco.

Through the first 5 fill ups of my new truck, I'm averaging in the 18-19 mpg range. I'm pretty happy with that considering the 2008 4 cyl I traded in averaged in the 20-21 range. I did hit a 20 mpg fill up a few weeks ago, but that included mostly highway driving.

I just drove my 2014 Off Road 4x4 about 200 miles from about sea level to 6500ft with my family of 5 and a heavy load in the back and got just over 20mpg on that trip. I get about 18 around town.

I still get around 19-22.5 mpg, depends how warm it is. I drove 800mls last Friday straight highway @70-75mph up and down the mountains, ~500lbs in the bed and another 500lbs in the cab and I got 350+mls before the light came one.

Now at $2.75 it's not bad at all ;)

I commute with my truck, so I sit in traffic a lot. During the week doing that, I average around 17.5-18mpg per tank. On long freeway trips without traffic I've gotten as high as 22mpg.
