    Hey all, I have the Fabtech 6" with 315/70/17's and i seem to rum pretty good, could someone post up some pics and explain a bit on what some of you did to fix it. Thanks.

    from what ive read and seen, the tires rub on the body mount. some people cut a small portion of it back and re-weld to close it back up.

    Ya i am rubbing the body mount in the front. I havent flexed enough in the rear for it to rub...yet...:D

    Cut/grind the body mount and weld some 1/4" plate in there to reinforce it. It's a common mod. Expect it to take you or a fabricator a full day to get it right. It's pretty time consuming.

    Mine are completely smooth from the outer end back to the frame:

    and obviously this is a pretty critical part so it would be better to let the pros do the welding huh?

    There are a couple of guys that cut their mounts without reinforcing and haven't had any issues, and they bash pretty hard.

    Personally, I wouldn't take the chance. :)

    Oh no, im going to reinforce, but if there are guys that run on no reinforcement then i should be ok doing the welding. That was the only thing i was worried about is the quality of the welds. I mean i have good welds but they are nothing i could get paid for. And yours are just flush with the fender well right?

    My fenderwells are gone. I also took a BFH and smashed the pinch weld flat to eliminate the chance of the metal cutting into the tire when I break stuff, which I tend to do unfortunately often. :eek:
