I can tell you now, you don't want to get the 285 tires on your 2.7L truck without re-gearing. Even getting 265/75/16s makes the engine drag.

If you want to dramatically increase your trucks performance for a few hundred bucks, get an automatic locking rear differential.

If you're wanting a super cheap but good lift about the best you can do is get the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks. Also you might be able to get the rear spring TSB for a little lift in the rear. That's the setup I've had for awhile and it works great for me.

We can talk more about it at the meet this weekend if you're going to be there.

Cool, there should be plenty of different lifts for you to see in person.

i think ill be there also and ill be installing the ome lift 700 for it and then an alignment. 2-4- hrs of work and im rolling down the road. i would not get another spacer lift- half the price 2x the problems. the ride is not great and off road you get no flex-none- it feels like you are riding on a horse and buggy.

    not a :taco:

EDIT: no go on the meet wrong one ill be in bryan tx my bad, drew you goin to the bryan meet also?

i have 33x12.5 mickey thompson's on a 2.7 w stock gearing and i can do 75 on the highway just fine....the drag isnt as bad as people thing (of course its there) but not awful. plus it stops me from getting speeding tickets haha.

i want to re-gear for the sole purpose of offroading and even that is not bad.

the onl;y thing that sucks is my mpg went down...but not even that bad.

I had trouble after putting 32s on. Yes it was drivable, but the power was abysmal.

    oil change...
longer brake lines wont be needed.

my first lift i had they toytec spacer lift and aal in the rear. that was without doing ANY research at all. I had cash, went to a 4x4 shop and said i wanna lift my truck and get wheels and tires. They gave me the toytec 3" spacer and aal kit plus my moto metals and nitto dune grapplers installed for $3100. I was way over priced! but i didnt know until i joined this site.
I would stay away from the spacer lift man, it rides very rough. Go with the billys front and back and get a AAL for the rear. You will be happy with it. its cost friendly and good products. and if you want coilovers in the future, you can upgrade the billys to coilovers for around $440.
