grille guard and skid plate removal

Howdy guys!
I know this topic has been discussed in a few other threads but for the life of me I don't get it. I just bought my first Tacoma ('08) and i was hoping to throw on the Westin 1-peice Sportsman grille guard, but I saw you had to remove your skid plate. Now I don't have that chrome skid plate that starts at the bumper, my first plat is directly under my engine, so do I still have to remove/modify that skid plate? If anyone has any insight on the subject please help a newbie out. Anoither quick question would be this, will the guard make my stock front end sag? Thanks for any advice i can get, I'm stoked to be here.
