Well Great NEws on my part.............Back in April they denied me the TSB because it wasn't out for 2008 yet.

So i got my lift in and thought i was SOL on getting the TSB.

Well i went in yesterday and explained the story to the manager and told him that i still have all the stock parts. they don't need to be installed in ym truckj...i just want the parts iw as entitles to back in April......well sure enough he looked up the TSB to make sure that 2008 was listed and it was.

So he said "OK i ordered all the parts....and when we get them we will call you"

Wicked excited about this cuz they could have told me to F Off

My question is.... does toyota send the dealer a fully assembled coil-over shock for the front......or do they use the same coil spring and replace the strut??

ohh yea and BTW i have a reg cab to and they still did this for me.....i've always been a fan of this dealership

Charles Maund Toyota in Austin TX - no problem

They've ordered the parts and will do the work under warranty. Piece of cake - I explained bottoming out w/300 lbs in back and showed them the 2008 TSB to make their decision easier. No hassle whatsoever.

anyone have problems with air-leak noise comin out the backglass area when you haul anything large in the back of yur truck?? i just hauled a fridge and it sounded like there was lots of air tryin to pass thru. its never done this before.

didnt know if there was a new tsb out for somethin related to this or if its just a freak mishap with the way the air is traveling... but it pisses me off

2009 tsb

Is anyone aware of TSBs that cover 2009 trucks. I am noticing some things in my truck that seem to match a couple of TSBs listed. However, dealership told me they only pertained to 2008 and prior. Is there a list floating around of 2009 specific TSBs?

Jason

Question 2009 TRD Dbl Cab

Does anyone know if this TSB applies to 09 models. They are not referenced in the TSB, but my rear leafs only contain 3.

I'm actually headed in for a tire rotation tomorrow and am going to ask them about it then.

I am confused... ( I have a 2008 TRD package ) now.. with the TSB for the leaf springs, should the dealer replace my bilstein shocks that came with it or just the additional leaf springs??

Second question..when they add the the leaf springs, is there a alignment that must be done ??

When I had my TRD done they said the the shocks on the TRD are not required to be changed as they are able to handle the the mod. So far I have had no problems and have had the mod for about a month and a half.

They shouldn't change your shocks if your truck is a TRD. You'd be downgrading shocks if you let them. The TSB calls for an alignment.

They're not adding additional leaf springs, really. They're taking out the old set (that has 3) and replacing it with a new set (that has 4).

hey guys...read the first post on this thread......open the pdf file and read the TSB. It will answer all your questions. I found this thread by doing a 'spring tsb' search.

I called the dealer last week about the tsb. They gave me all sorts of hassles and said it was a case by case fix and I would need to have the truck looked at. I called the 800 no., and the dealer called me back a few days later and said the parts were in, and to set an appt. Truck is going in Friday and they are giving me a loaner while they do the work. Without this site I never even would have known about the TSB. I'll post pics when it's done.
