well darn! I just became aware of this forum and didn't know TSBs even existed! 43,000 miles on my Totally Awesome Toyota and I REALLY need the suspension upgrade, especially with all the stuff DH loads on our car hauler and expects TAT to pull! Any idea how much $$$ to have it done?

I paid $1,000 for a 100k warranty bc I knew I would keep it for a long time. Though I recently towed my 700# bike from NC to Miami, FL and the rear did sit a bit low. But now that I know about the TSB, I will have that worked on asap. Thanks to all for your good work.

The TSB is only an add a leaf but Toyota paid the bill. Do a search of AAL and you'll get some ideas of $$. Good luck

Guess what? Your extended warranty probably doesn't cover TSBs.
36 months or 36K is written on the TSB with no mention of extended warranty.
I extended my warranty for 1 year and found out it doesn't cover TSBs.

That's just an adjustment of the brake light switch.

sounds good to me, just seems like the switch has a lot of play in it as if it's ready to fall apart. how would you adjust the switch?

Al; start new threads for new subjects. You're more likely to get an answer.

Hi all, new member from central Wis. I had just heard of suspension problem. Contacted my dealer and they replaced them for me. didnt think they would take care of problem as is way out of warranty . It was done at dealers expense . I be one lucky guy.

I have owned 2 Tacomas both had comfort springs (3 leaves) both sagged
I owned a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel between the 2 of them the dodge was a true truck (work horse) but with the cost of diesel over $4 I had to let it go.
The Tacomas have been without a doubt the best trucks I have ever owned in my 40 years of driving cars and trucks its that neither seem to handle the advertised 1/2 ton load without looking like they are overloaded.
I never heard of a TSB until I visited this site. So I took my 2008 to the dealer for the "fix" but was told no fix has been offered for 2008 only 2005 through 2007, grr, so I will at my expense and disdain for false advertising have to put an extra leaf, stronger shocks, and possibly air bags between the leaf springs like I did with my 96 taco
The only other Japanese truck I have owned was a Nissan 4X4 it was without a doubt the worst riding kidney busting truck i have ever owned. I never put a load in it because I wasn't in the same business as I am today. I sold it after one 4 hour trip to the snow and will probably never buy another Nissan again .
80%?? I have the tow package and it came with the 3-leaf pack. are all 3-leaf packs the "comfort" version?

Canadian Tacomas have had 4 leaf springs since 2008. US trucks still have 3. As far as I know it's 100% not 80%.

I've been trying to keep up with this thread, but let me see if I get it.
Just bought 08 Off road package and tow package should I call the dealership and have the springs check!! I'll be doing some long towing next week!

You can either test it out or try going after it immediately. I haven't hauled anything yet, but I got mine done. Follow the 'Dealers who performed the Suspension TSB' sticky to find out more. You can pretty much skim most of it.
