I started to get a little irate over the phone. I am giving them a chance to call me back with good news. They offered to cx the purchase, but I seriously doubt I will find a truck in my price range that clean. It looked brand new. I really don't want to pass this up. It was going to be nice to have a truck again!

Bullshit! You should be able to at least sign a waiver of some sort.
Don't stop , keep on them.

Do you know for sure it's a full leaf pack or are you just speculating?

I agree. I think I am going to make the hour drive to the dealership tonight and make them give me a waiver to let me take possession.

All the paperwork was done for financing and trade-in. In fact they had me sign my car back out as a loaner until I took possession. I am not sure if the money had traded hands.

And I am pretty sure I already signed a release of liability. I need to re-check my paperwork.

Damn. Sorry you are in this spot. I say they give you the truck. Sign a waiver or what the fuck ever. We are all driving around still with our shitty springs that are recalled so what's one more?

I would push the issue man. Unless you are good to go leaving the truck "on hold" in the meanwhile , but this recall/tsb could take awhile.

    That's my fear.

I was also told that there was some recent bad publicity in the MSM re: dealerships letting people drive off in situations like this, so if that is true, I have that going against me. Unfortunately, I seem to be a little more educated about these issues than the stereotypical car buyer (at least I'd like to think so) and keep myself accountable for my own decisions/actions. But that doesn't matter much in today's litigious society.

I hate stealerships to begin with.

You never know it might be a sign from wherever and this shit wasn't meant to be. :)gossip: which means there's a better truck coming SOON):D

I was anal with mine. I wanted the exact specific stuff and my buddy who worked for Toyota got me one and I haven't been happier. Worth the wait.

If I were able to buy new I would have had that luxury (and no TSB issues). ;) :D

Dude.....by no means did I buy new. That's why my search was "what I want or nothing"! And that search took awhile.

I bought my 05 in 07 with 41,000 miles on her. The guy that had it traded it in for a Tundra. He did NONE of the TSB's.

I paid a teeny bit over $17,000 for her and she's been the best vehicle EVER!!:D:D:D:D

Very cool! My apologies for assuming you bought new. This truck fits the bill for me. The extras I wanted were a luxury and most if not all can be added as time goes on. It has all of the basics I wanted. I am very happy with what I purchased so far. I just want to be able to drive it... Hahahaha!

Don't apologize man....it's all good  I understand completely and you should get to take it home no matter what.

I could of had new but I didn't want that many payments. This truck had low miles and it fit the bill for me to. (I also stole it because my buddy didn;t need to make money off of it:D:D)

Does the recall notice say replacement of springs or reimbursement of incurred costs related to recall?

I had a motor blow on a 2005 Jetta TDI ceramic glow plug broke and dropped into cylinder gouged up the bore - still ran but was making ticking noises. I had 115,000 on the car, powertrain warranty 100,000, SOL. I paid out of pocket for a brand new crate long block complete for $5,000, as I was in texas working when the motor failed I paid a shop to install and set up etc, including rental car for over a month i was out of pocket $10,000. a month later I received a recall notice for failing glow plugs, notice said to go to dealer for replacement glow plugs or submit receipts / invoices for any incurred costs related to the recall. Long story short I submitted all the bills for rental car and new engine, shop bill etc. Within 30 days I received a check for $10,000 from VW of America. I still have the damaged engine in my garage just needs to be honed out and new piston and rings, glow plug and clean up dings in head. Who said VW is a bad company???

So I replaced my springs on my 2009 TACO TRD Sport crew cab with Deaver 3/4 ton springs 6 stack, paid $800 and $150 for shop to install, lets see if Toyota is as good a company as VW, see if they reimburse my incurred costs.
