"Description of Remedy Program : All known owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail. Toyota dealers will replace the rear leaf spring assemblies with improved ones. The owner letter will instruct vehicle owners who have paid to have this condition remedied prior to this campaign to seek reimbursement pursuant to Toyota's General Reimbursement Plan."

Where did you find this? I looked up my number and as yet no remedy is available, along with their FAQ on their Recall page, no remedy is mentioned yet.

It's in the list of 10 documents associated with the TSB. When I get on a computer I can get you the exact document referenced.

ETA - The information quoted was on Page 2 in the file titled: RCLRPT-14V604-0036.PDF (Recall 573 Report - Rev 2).

Very impressed with the detailed list of the TSBs. I even found my truck in this list. Right now I'm on the front wheel bearings...again. I overcame the fan blower issue and it seems to be doing good. I never thought about the leaf springs. I will look when I jack truck up.

I tried to get the TSB done on my 2012 with the 3 leaf pack and they said it didn't apply. I've looked around here and can't find it. What did I miss?

New leafs. My rear suspension bottoms out when I hit dips on roads, and it sags when I'm pulling a light utility trailer with minimal weight on it.

that's the harsh ride TSB. the recall doesn't have a fix applied to it yet.

the last TSB i saw had 05-11 on it. there may be a newer one floating around though.

The only newer TSB than the '05-'11 spring pack replacement has to do with heated seats (they recommend unplugging them or something). Something about the wires getting pinched.

I am checking on the spring pack TSB everyday, still no news yet, but I am hoping for notices to go out in the next week or two.

Hi everyone. I have a 2012 toy Tacoma 4x4 4.0 litre 5 spd auto.Does any one know how to take the black covers on the back bumper off with out breaking or ruining them. Both black covers the two you step on to step into the bed of the truck. They are both flat and the stock ones from the factory. Thanks to all that help.

You, my friend, are in luck. I just painted my back bumper last week and put everything together over the weekend. There are three pieces. The center trim just pops off of the top of the bumper cover. You will need to remove your license plate and there are three plastic screw type rivets just behind/above the license plate Pry underneath and pull. It will take some effort, but you should not have to "hulk" it. The other two pieces have a clip and two 10mm nuts. You do not have to take the 10mm nuts completely out, but you will need to loosen them. Once they are loose, there is one clip you can pull up on and then push the cover piece off of the tab for the bolt (the bolts have tabs that slide in to a slot on the plastic cover.

For the plastic piece under the license plate, there are two tabs that you will need to pull up. There will either be a plastic rivet or screws underneath that will need to be removed. Then under the bumper, there will be two m6 10mm bolts that go into the bumper support that will need to be taken out. Should pop right off.

    Hi all,

Do all these TSBs apply to the 2015 model year as well? Or did Toyota get smart and update each model year by resolving the TSBs? I'm most interested in anything affecting the engine, drive train, suspension and frame.

    Thanks for your help

Hey all! Great info on here, I took my 14 DC for the 10k service last week and mentioned a rear leaf squeak to the tech while he was working on the truck. He tried for over an hour to get the squeak to stop and finally told me that he would have to order a replacement set of springs for the truck because he could not get the squeaking to stop. Anyone else have a similar issue with their rear leafs?

Mine are squeaking like crazy, but I'm in an 09 with 75k miles. The dealer said their fix is pressure washing them.
