5100's vs stock billy's

so I have been doing a lot of research on what to use for a front lift, and you all have been very patient with all my questions (thanks)!!

Besides the adjustable part, what makes 5100's better then the blue/yellow stock billy's?

I hear soo many people say they are better, and I asked a local 4x4 shop...they said that they are virtually the same strut and valving? besides being adjustable...is this true...and for all who feel like posting "the 5100's are better" please point me in the direction of some specs that actually prove that?

also mixed results from using them as a lift with stock coils.

 

They ride different to me the 5100's were a huge upgrade and would recommend them to anyone!

 

I really trust the shop i went to...and they have no reason for feeding me a line...

I do however know that i always here "5100 are better, etc ect)

Could it be people just want to justify their purchase?

(don't get me wrong...i know they are better because you can get some lift out of them) but do they actually perfrom better? and if so...what is different in the 5100's than in the stock billys?

 

The 5100s have stiffer damping so when you preload the coil or use a lift coil they will be able to handle the load of the coil better not feeling as bouncy. So they will give you more control when you are running a stiffer setup.

 

I was also under the impression that they are in fact a beefier shock too. More girth, more liquid, so they don't fade as fast.

I wouldn't recommend it. I stick with the pain and shame of having been boner punched than have her treat it.
Her doing EMS is the equivalent of my first oil change. Except she'd still be under the impression that everything went fucking swimmingly.
