Service Rep. wasn't aware (even when showing him the printout).

Spoke with Service Manager, very friendly, ordered the parts. Parts arrived two days later and they installed it with no problems.

I really like the way my truck is riding now.

Broke down and decided to get it done. Toyota of Richardson just ordered my parts for the Suspension TSB and the squealing brake TSB.

Hey Ya'll,

Thank you for making me aware of this problem(suspension TSB) before it was too late. I took my 2007 Certified Toyota Tacoma DC PR SR5 with 34,000 miles along with a print out of the TSB to

POWER TOYOTA TEMPE @ Tempe Autoplex

My service writer Steve was helpful and they did not even question or have any issue with doing the job.

I had only taken it in for an oil change and because the dealer installed alarm was hanging from under the dash, and expected the parts to have to be ordered, but they had them in stock, so they did the job on the same day.

My only disapointment was that the prepaid oil changes that I purchased with the vehicle $400.00 for four years including any maintenence required did not have an option for synthetic oil. The dissapointing part is that he said it would be $30.00 extra each time to use synthetic oil. I can get 5 quarts of mobil 1 at Wal-Mart for about $20.00, so I decided to not do synthetic at this time. I found it ridiculous that they wanted an extra $30 per oil change for synthetic. They also wanted $25.99 each for the D-rings for the bed, I saw them online somewhere for $19.99 a pair.

Later,

Allan Greenblazer

That's utter BS. I just got a mailing and I didn't sign up for anything. If you want the full ad, click here.

Can anyone give me an idea for an easy to do, easily identifiable test to see if I'm affected?

Some guy said he had probs at 400lbs - I don't know if that was jokingly? So i tried, I could only find ~475 lbs. (me and one other guy jumping in the back) while one guy looked at the springs, and everything was OK.

#1 Do you have 2005+ PreRunner/4x4 AccessCab/DoubleCab?

#2 Do you have 3 leaf springs on either side of the bed?

#3 Do you have less than 36,000 miles?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you're are next contestant on "Fix my Rear End!!!"

Some guys were saying here that the springs were changed to a different quality so that 3 were sufficient - after all, the guy with the 2009 only had 3... so was there a changeover or are they continuing to screw up all the way into the '09s?

The part number for the 09's is the same as the 05's (it would be different if they changed the quality or tinsel strength of the metal).

Short Answer: They are blowing smoke...

Just got mine done today at Sunnyside Toyota in North Olmsted, OH. I had to work the deal a bit because mine was out of warranty, but I had the Platinum extended, so they paid. Much stiffer but it now feels like a truck. Can't wait to haul something.

Toyota of Carlsbad, Carlsbad, Ca.-Surprisingly helpful, also did wind noise TSB and intake hose rattle TSB. Did not have to order parts. They even called me when a tech dented my hood while doing the windshield TSB. Their dent-guy took care of it and I can't for the life of me find it. Trust me I was pissed but, I give them points for calling me about it though. Not all shops would do this. Over-all a good experience.

Royal Moore Toyota, Hillsboro, OR. - Called the corporate support line whatever-you-call-it from toyota's website, who forwarded me to these guys. Instead of the expected, "you are an '08, the TSB doesn't cover you, wait", they ASSISTED me through making calls back to regional support to find an alternate operations code and proper writeup for the invoice. Went in on a Saturday, parts arrived on Tuesday, service on Friday. Before handing them the keys, I did have to mention that it included alignment. They quickly read over the TSB and said, "Yes, I see that right here, we'll make sure to include that as well. Here's the chauffer service back to your house, see you in about 3 hours."

No muss, no fuss, these guys are awesome. I might just have to change my beliefs about dealerships...!

Still working on getting my TSB done (my rear end is killing me)...

I am STILL working with Toyota Customer Service (800 number) and with the help of North Park Toyota of Boerne to get my TSB done. I have run into several problems.

Problem 1) Toyota Customer Service and I went round and round and round again about how my truck is not covered under said TSB. I even explained to their management that my truck has the exact same parts as the previous 3 model (05'-07'), and that it has the exact same problem. Finally, after 2 weeks of complaining, they finally told me to get an inspection and recommendation by the dealership. Of course, North Park has no problem doing the TSB - they just don't want to pay for it (Toyota's mess-up, not theirs).

Problem 2) Alamo Toyota (where I bought the truck) never put the invoice in the system. So, Toyota never knew that I bought the truck. This means that the VIN is still "registered" in Toyota's system with Alamo Toyota and not me. So, I am not registered as getting in covered under warranty since I don't "own" the truck according to the Warranty system. I had to drop the invoice by North Park last night. Hopefully that is all they need to get me added to the system.

Problem 3) Toyota Customer Service wants the dealership to inspect the vehicle to show that it is in-fact having the issue. Well, I fixed that. I put 840 lbs of sand in the bed of the truck this past weekend and drove it up to the dealership. No where near the full payload capacity. Guess what - my bump stops work.

I have to give credit to Phillip Dillard in the Service Department of North Park Toyota of Boerne. He has jumped on this like white on rice, and he hasn't given up (even when I thought he had). He has tried to be as fair as possible in this, and he has begun calling Toyota along with me to get this taken care of.

I'm right there with you 007 . . . I've been going round and round with my dealer for two months as well as the 800 # and am now waiting for some area Toy rep to go to my dealer and see my truck with the issue directly so he can give the authorization. The 800 number is worthless IMO as no one calls back when they say they will . . . they suck the big one!

I've gotten them to call back, but I am having the same issue with them as I did the first 15 times I talked to them. They are telling me "no" they won't fix a problem that they fixed on countless other Tacomas simply because a piece of paper tells them not too.
