I'm planning on painting it black; I'd like to know if its painted or if its just raw aluminum.

I don't think it will matter, either way you need to scuff it up, prime and then paint it.

Go to home depot and get some steal wool it works the best. And then use some rubbing alcohol and some of those blue shop towels to get the dust and dirt off the skid plate. Another thing you might consider is bed lining it, I think it would look really cool.

I'm also thinking about powder coating it. I thought about getting it LinedX but I don’t think it would look that great either.

Also, would adding in a red 'TRD' look to rice rocket?

I just used some rubberized undercoating and finished it off with a couple coats of black spray paint. Turned out just fine.;)

2.5" Didn't you sell your truck? Either way I just called a place and they'll stripped whatever is there and powder coat it back for $35.

People have painted it before, and put a red TRD logo on it... looked decent. Just remember as a skid plate it's useless.
