What was changed from the '05 model to the '06 model V6 engine to make the drop in HP and Torque? The '06 boasts a hp of 236, whereas my '05 states it has 245hp. Does anyone know where the other 9 horses went?

The 9 horses were technically never there. They now use the SAE J1349 standard which is more accurate so the '05 rating of 245hp was actually 236 when going by the new standard.

Well that's disapointing, either way my paperwork says 245 I'll stick with that when talking about the taco

Yeah, I mean it's not a big deal, really. Pretty much every car made "lost" some hp with the new SAE standard. Japanese cars "lost" the most, though. I think the Corvette went down something like 3hp in comparison. Hey, it's still a fast truck.

It's still 245 when you use the high octane gas. They had to list it with the power available with the lowest grade fuel recommended.
