There's a pivot where the mirror attaches to the windshield, and the back of the mirror
I carefully pushed my mirror up higher than yours is in the last picture
    Give it a shot...

SOB - just walked out to the truck, and sure enough (the basic mirror) does have a dual pivot to move the damn thing up and out of the way a fair bit. from what I can tell from photos online, the auto-dimmers should too.

Hey, I am looking for anyone that knows how to make is so that I can turn on my factory back up camera in my 2011 crew cab base 4x4 SR5 V6, upon request (Like on a switch) but also make it still turns on when I go into reverse. Also it would be great if someone could show how to remove the front grill panel from the truck. Thanks

I am not how to modify your camera but by the "grille panel" I assume you mean the insert inside the grille housing that has your emblem on it and such? If so those are usually held in with plastic tabs that have been melted to the housing on the back side. You can pick up a plastic welder from harbor freight and melt the tabs off to remove it.

This how to satisfies your first request but not second. With a little ingenuity I'm sure you can figure it out though...

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Original post can be found here: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...-off-your-tpms-light-forever.html#post9885016

I can't personally vouch for years other than a 2011 DCLB (my truck), but I don't see why Toyota would move things around much.

In the process of replacing my blown curtain airbags and ripped headliner yesterday, I found the TPMS Receiver box. Knowing my next set of tires I would be removing the sensors entirely, I tested what disconnecting the plug would do (light on? light off?).

    This is super-simple!

The TPMS Receiver box is located above the headliner, driver side, above the rear seat. It's a couple inches outside of the sliding window locking trim edge, and about four to six inches in from the window. To the driver's side of the high-mount stop light. It's a black box about 2"x3"x1", with a single connector leading into it.
Disconnect the plug, and the light will never turn on again. I removed mine entirely (single M8 nut...10mm wrench).

While I had removed my headliner entirely, you should be able to do this with minimal dis-assembly of the interior.
You will need to remove the rear coat hooks for sure: push a small flat-blade screwdriver under the front (hook side) lip, and twist the hook 90*, then pull it out. You should be able to pry down the headliner enough to access the receiver......you may need to open the slider window for easier access. The black box is tucked up inside the white plastic headliner support skeleton, so you may need to feel around a bit for it.
If you can't reach it this way, also remove the driver side grab handle (pinch the outer ends, then use a 10mm socket), and figure a way to get the headliner loose from the C-pillar (the correct way is, in order: remove the seat back, remove the storage bin, remove the lower C panel, remove the two M8 [10mm wrench] bolts, then pry the C-pillar trim straight out......all easier than it sounds).

First time posting and this forum has really helped a beginner like myself. I am a first time Taco owner and I like my beauty more every day.

I've only done minor things but so far I am pretty happy with it.
Recently acquired 2014 4Runner Limited 20 inch wheels, love them. I had 16's on before, gave it a little extra height without have to put a lift on it, wheels fit perfectly!

Also Plasti Dipped the badges and front grille. Now that I have shiny new wheels, I might let the chrome on the grille shine again, what do y'all think?

    -Thanks everyone!

Welcome to TW. Congratulations on the truck.

    Interesting wheels.

I am in the small minority that likes the chrome grille. I feel the Tacoma has just the right amount of chrome between the grille, rear bumper, and badges to look great and offset the darker colors without overdoing it.

I also like the small bits of chrome on my black taco. I put nerfs on it a couple weeks ago and went black. I dont think i would have liked chrome for those

Anyone get a 2.5" suspension lift? Do you have any spacers or no? and What is the biggest tire I can go with a 2.5" lift without getting any sort of spacer?
I hear nothing but terrible things associated with spacers.
