    has anyone regeared with 33's??
i was just wondering if it would be worth it.
i just wanna gear it so that its the same as the stock ratio maybe
    just a little bit lower.

4.10's would be a good gear for that tire.

AFAIK, you won't find 4.10 anywhere for the front, so 4.56 is your choice.

You can get them from JT http://www.justdifferentials.com or ECGS http://www.eastcoastgearsupply.com/

You will need install kits too, and installation is not cheap.

Calculate about $1075 for both sets of gears and install kit. If your truck is "new" and you have someone that can reuse the bearings, then you can get a mini install kit, total will run you about $659 (my quote from JT for 4.56s on a 2009 Auto Tacoma)

ECGS can supply you a fully built front and rear diff and you send back your core within a month, it's installed and under warranty for 5 years.. Pricing is about $1200 IIRC.

If you use this site it will tell you 4.10s would be a match
    http://www.rocky-road.com/calculator.html

there is other sites that will break down speeds and such as far as what it would be like with 4.56.Both good gears,I used 4.10s in my 91 with 33's.As far as where to get them check out some of the vendors on this site and TTORA.com

yes 4.10 is a match, but you won't find gears!!! hence the 4.56 recommendation.

If you scour the forums, you might find some 4.10s someone has pulled out of their 4 banger. Or you could buy them from the dealer for a couple grand, lol.

I was giving the OP a reference to look at for the question he asked. As far as finding the gears I left him the option to search and never said 4.56 were any less of a good choice. The OP should call his local rear end or offroad shop to see there install prices, since he is limited to locality. But as far as the gears most likely will find them cheaper online

4.10's are the same gears the 2.7's use. You should be able to find them.

4.30 would be perfect, but impossible to find
4.56 would be great to and easy to find.

i feel like a dipshit cause when it comes to tranny's and diff's i am dumb as a brick, so i am on the justdifferentials.com website, its throwing all sorts of measurements at me, like 8" and 8.5" rear and then there are 3rd members and all sorts of other stuff. sorry, trat me like a child and break it down real simple if you could.... lol... if i wanted to buy 4.56 to help me not feel like a turtle going up hills, what would i get from them to do the swap? lol, i feel like i should be wearing a diaper.

so the 2.7's had 4:10's?? damn wish i woulda known that along time ago. i traded my 2.7 in for the recall i shoulda just taken the gears out. all they did was crush the thing anyways lol that was a fun little truck 250000 miles still ran like new and i beat the piss outta it.
