I love my truck but I doubt I will only buy toyota. If I like a vehicle and it is reliable I am going to buy it.

Toyota still has my vote, this is just being a responsible comapny. Something you will never see for thr "Big Three".

    Three cheers for "Jap Scrap"

The media and public are acting like Toyota made a bunch of Pintos. Toyota recognizes the problem, and is going to take care of the problem. End of story.

I bought my Toyota because I wanted something smaller, better fuel mileage, and stylish. It ain't better than the other trucks I owned. Sold my 02 F150 Supercrew not because it was bad, but had a buddy who wanted it bad enough to pay what I wanted. About the only thing I didn't like was the gas mileage. In truth the truck was more comfortable.
Stick to your love of your truck and not to attack every other brand. They all have their problems. Currently Toyota has 5.3 million vehicles being recalled for defective gas pedals. That's worthy of noting as being pretty high in recall ranking for one single incident.
While Toyota may not have built the part in question, they helped with design and quality. They installed these units in their vehicles. The first issues started in somewhere around 03 in the Lexus branding. Toyota continually denied anything wrong. Now it's on their back to fix what they tried to sweep under the rug.
Sorry guys, not alot of compassion for them. They will survive and they will have learned from this. And, like all large manufacturers they too will make more mistakes in the future. It's how they will react to them that will show if they have actually learned anything.
