Well, a few months ago I went ahead and traded in the Taco for a F-350 diesel. What a POS this thing is. I've spent more on random stupid repairs in the last 2 months of owning this Ford then I've ever spent on my tacoma alone (aftermarket parts + 1 wheel alignment). Anyway, needless to say, I F'ed up!

Next time they start hacking on ya, just give them your phone number. When they ask why, tell them when their Ford breaks down, they'll be looking for someone to tow them home. :D

The list starts out with a bill for $850 to replace a leaky rad hose and air filter (Thought the rad leak was the famous "split rad" problem). Then the exhaust gas cooler lines split (warrantly at least). $1100 to replace an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculator) valve. The latest thing, going home in -20C weather and truck decided to shut down on me in the middle of the HWY. Trucks in the shop for the 4th time in 3 months now, can't wait to see the bill on this one! Anyway, I'm gonna start looking at the tundra now. Long storey short, This is why the "big 3" suck ass and always will!

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
Everyone I know, Or heard of has had nothing but trouble with current full size diesel trucks. especially with the so called Cummings, or cat diesels.

Clearly you needed a bigger truck for something... Do you still need the big truck, or can you un-do your mistake? A Tundra could be a viable option.

    Jonny,
Sorry to hear about your luck man! I am curious to know what year your truck is? 2003,04,05 are known to have issues. But after that the 6.0 is a very reliable engine. I am a ford boy at heart, it actually was a serious decision for me to get a Tacoma.. I can tell you one thing, I will be buying the New Ford Diesel...

The current 6.4 Powerstroke has been a solid engine, it pulls like a freakin train! The only bad thing is poor fuel mileage, But, You can fis that!! All the new Diesels have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) all you need to do is get a DPF delete kit and boo-ya! A good friend of mine has a brand new 2010 F350 6.4 ltr Powerstroke, he was only getting 12-14 mpg's. After the DPF delete kit he is getting solid 20's.. Very good improvement! In my opinion Ford is seriously the American vehicles of our future. Dodge and General Motors are both on the verge of losing it all, and Ford is Making great products! My tacoma won't be around for much longer...

    Great website!

Get back in a taco. I can't think of a better time to be buying. With Toyota ceasing sales on just about everything except the Taco and 4Runner, you should have some real negotiating power.

I'd think so, too. I think you might get an even better deal on one of the 'stop sales' models once they're back on the market. If you want a Tundra for the size, I'd hold off on buying a used one now and wait until Toyota starts selling them again. I bet you find a pretty soft market.

That's pretty cold for a diesel but I am assuming your running an anti-gel additive of some sort.

haha why would you do that? Getting a ford OR a disiel is one thing, but a Ford disiel is just asking for financial hardache. At least they circled the problem.
