Possibly too much fading to remove emblems?

I have an 05 silver streak tacoma and had thought abt partially debadging my truck. But then i got to thinking, what if the paint has faded enough that it will show where the emblem once was? Do you guys think it will be noticable?

 

You should be fine! I have a 05 SWB Taco and I debadged the whole thing and there was no difference in the paint coloration and I live in AZ with the hottest temps and sun

 

Test it out on your tailgate to be safe if your still ifie

 

I didn't notice on my '06 when I removed badges after the truck was 3 years old.

 

ok great! i really wanna black em out but only have "tacoma" on the tailgate and on each side. so ill be getting rid of 3 on the tailgate. just gotta get the ok from dad haha

 

Post up some pics when you're finished. I think that'd look good. The emblems on my SSM truck are black, but I put them all back on. I would like to see the tailgate w/ just the Tacoma emblem.

I did the same thing. But put them all back on. And I put the Prerunner on top.

 

mine is an 05 white takin off in 08 with no visable signs

 

I took mine off my 05 in 09 with no fade.

You should be fine. If the paint is faded a bit it's nothing a few minutes polishing wouldn't fix. And you're silver streak, it'll hide minor imperfections a hell of a lot better than indigo or black.

 

yeah i feel confident abt doing it, but my dad said i gotta show him some pics before he's gonna let me do it. and should i wait for it to warm up outside? weve got 6 inches of snow on the ground right now. haha

 

It'll be a pain in the ass if it's cold. Grab a hair dryer to warm it up a bit, should make life easier. Or just wait for a warm day...but who wants to wait that long? I'm sure you're already digging through the archives for some Silver Streak debadged pics. Just be sure to pick a few with lifts and other cool shit so you have ammo when you ask him for the lift.

haha yeah man i know, im just not sure if i want to lift it cuz its a prerunner. and my tires are only a year old so it'll look funny if i lift it and have the little tires on there.

Ill let you know if i plan on selling them, but right now prolly not. just till i make sure this is what i want to do.

 

You guys dont think the black emblems will look out of place do you? All the pics ive seen have either been on trd offroads with the black mirrors and black handles to tie it in nicely, or if its a sport, they had black rims.

 

Black emblems look good on a SSM truck. I did it to mine and don't regret it for a second.

 

well ive talked to my dad abt 3 times trying to convince him to let me do this and wont budge. he doesnt like the look of it. Ive basically come to the conclusinon that im never gonna be able to mod this truck

 

happened to me and I can't figure out how to fix it...it looks like the more elbow grease i put in the more the paint got marred...
