Pics of Sno-Way snow plow

Some folks asked for pics of my truck with it's Sno-Way play mounted so here's a few...not the best but will try to get some better ones soon.

Here's the wireless remote -- it's excellent and really easy to use...



It really plows well. The whole unit weighs only 270 lbs. but with the hydraulic down-pressure it scrapes my driveway down to the pavement. Have not had any snow since I got my Duratracs and can't wait -- Bring it Mother Nature!

This could be a stupid question... but why do you need a snow plow? (I am from Cali no snow by me) I understand you have to drive around in the snow but does it really get deep enough for you to need a snow plow? Or do you have it for work?

 

Very cool! If you don't mind me askin, how much does something like that go for?

 

Usually, people with personal plows have long driveways or get paid to plow parking lots, etc.

Not a stupid question at all...my driveway is a little over 300' long and we can get quite a bit of snow -- sometimes 12-18". My truck would be able to play in that but my wife's and son's cars would have a hard time.

Well, it ain't cheap. Installed with the wireless remote, down-pressure, steel cutting edge, and poly blade is ~ $4500. You'll spend ~ $3500 for a Fisher or other steel blade that IMO are way too heavy for our trucks. I plow myself and my brother-in-law's who both live locally.

 

Why not just buy your wife and son their own tacoma. That would be the nice thing to do.

I like it. Looks like a great setup! I dunno about where you live but we've been getting dumped on by snows this year. Snowing outside right now and I'd say we've got a couple inches today and more snow is heading this way for the weekend. I love it!

 

Looks nice. It looks about 6 1/2- 7 ft wide. I'm A Fisher person myself, but you're correct they do weigh you down. Is it two or four way? Fisher's Homestead or SD models weigh about 250 lbs and the plow frame disconnects with the plow. I live in Florida now, so it is no longer an issue. I'm not getting a commission or anything. Let us know how it works when you get some snow to push.

 

Here's my Tacoma ready to play in the snow this morning...you wouldn't want to shovel or snowblow a 300' driveway with this much snow (only about 8" but heavy, wet snow). Took me 25 minutes and I was on my way to work.

Old thread but anyone have any pics of how it mounts to the frame?

Does it get in the way of the skid plates or bumper?

 

Mounts to the frame under the bumper with two little robot arm looking clasping claw thingies.

Nice plow! I should get one! But, our driveway isn't exactly flat, so it would probably end up tweaking my frame...

I love the poly construction, so you can actually use your headlights at least some of the time.

Do you drive around town with the plow on?
