should i be worried bout this tacoma recall?

 

What recall ? The Tacomas weren't included.

 

If your floor mats are installed correctly, you have nothing to worry about.

 

strange... my service director told me that Tacoma's are included unless the VIN starts with a "J"... meaning it was made in Japan.

But he told me that the Tacomas are included and it only takes about 15-20 mins for them to fix it once their Techs are trained on it...

 

The only recall on the Tacoma as of now involves floor mat interference with the gas pedal. The big recall that has dominated the news lately involves a sticky gas pedal made by CTS Corp. The Tacoma is not one of the Toyota products in this new recall. At least, not yet.

 

+1 Tacomas are made in California and Mexico.

 

No 2nd Gen Tacomas are made in Japan, no matter what the vin says.

If I bring my truck in for the floormat recall what are they going to do? ziptide the mat to the seat?

 

As long as you use the OEM carpet mat only and use hooks to keep it in place, there is no need to go into the dealer for the recall. The recall involves the rubber all weather mats.

now im pissed bc the damn Service Director didnt know what the hell he was talking about!!!

 

also give him shit for not knowing what the VINs look like.. Tacomas start wita 5 or a 3...
