Checking out a potential new truck : Good Deal?

nice. i would love to put a s/c on my truck, but im gonna wait until my warranty is up to throw that on and some headers

 

the TRD S/C is warranty covered

well that didnt go too well lol

I went and drove it again and checked it out during the day, there were alot of other scratches on it.

it drove pretty nicely and all the 4wd, locker stuff worked great

so we sit down to negotiate

I offer 22,500 and 18,000 trade on mine

they came back and said retail on the truck was 29,995 I looked at them like they had two heads.

they offered me 15500 for my truck and 26 for theirs

I told them a 5500 difference is the best I would do

Then they brought the used car manager over and he was pretty nasty

Asked my why I thought what I offered was fair, and I told him that I am trading in a much nicer vehicle than what I was buying ( condition wise)

he says well it has a 7 year/100,000 warranty and wanted to know if I would pay to have it added to mine with the trade, I said if thats the case take the cash off of the Dcab and I will stick with the 5 year/60 k

in the end I walked out on it, and know that I think about it, it probably wasnt the right one, I can find one in better shape for a better price elsewhere

I have the nice situation that I am 25 and look 19

when I tell them I,m an Engineer, Married, with a house, they look at me funny lol

they thought that I was new to this and would take advantage of me for it

kind of funny. I will just wait until one of my other dealer connections finds one and get it for just over invoice on it

So I got another email from them

apparently they have 24500 is the vehicle and can offer me 500 over invoice ( employee pricing)

which is a nice offer, but if they have that much in it, its still more than its worth
