this is one of the negatives about the internet. we are simply to well informed. you should see the mazdaspeed3 forum. i thought my car was going to implode any second. engines falling out, turbos exploding, etc. easy to see all the doom and gloom, when everybody has a say on the internet. i bought my truck used. paid a very decent price for it. i'll drive it into the ground. when the time comes, i'll buy another truck then. toyota? probably..i love my truck, and will keep up with the maintenence..saying i'm afraid, is a bit extreme (about the truck). nothing is forever..i'm slightly afraid of dying. ;)

Well I personally think the argument that there is "no way to tell how reliable in the long run the newer models will be because we can't tell for certain until 10 or 20 years after they've been on the road" is silly. It's this way with any make. The only thing we have to go on is the precedent set by the company, and Toyota's set the best precedent out of any auto maker.

Even after all the recall mess, I remain 100% confident that I'll be driving my Tacoma with little to no issues 10 years from now.

Your thread reads as though you just found out you have the AIDS or the Clap. I can understand being upset because Toyota isn't what they used to be, but I think that most of your threads express your "concern".

Looks like whining to me. Like I said before, if you would spend half the time that you spend here crying about how unhappy you are with your purchase, and put your time and effort into contacting Toyota Corp, maybe you would get somewhere. But you come on here and cry about the same thing more than once and it looks like whining to me. Just saying.

I have said it many times. I bought my Tacoma because of the historical reliability of the brand and that it was the only decent 4 door truck on the market. When I am ready to replace it, I will find a vehicle that suits my purposes and has a good reputation, Toyota or not. If Toyota is having reliability issues, then we should voice concerns and if you doubt Toyota, look at other brands. There are some fine vehicles out ther not made by the Big T.

Isn't that the point to a forum? to share problems and fixes? or to see if anyone else is having the issue?

Well at first I thought you were talking pre NUMI - I think the Japanese built ones - well, let's just say I trusted the details to the manufacuring a bit more. I like the idea of buy american - as long as it really is good like, well, like... our fruits and vegtables.
