I still don't understand the run from OEM. Toyota engineered, troubleshot, tested, and built the engine. I think they understand what type of filter it needs.

For one, autozone is 3mi away, the dealer is 30+. Second, I've run k&n's on 300hp performance cars, never had a problem. Third, the 1" attached nut makes an oil change laughably easy.

Fair enough. I order the filters in bulk online, so distance to the dealer isn't really a concern. As for filter removal, these things:

Allow me to remove pretty much any oil filter with ease and no mess.

Not saying other brands are worse, but I'll stick with the product from the people who know my engine best.

I used a Fram once, when it came time to change the oil I crushed the stupid thing and spent about an hour getting it off.
Since then I have heard of alot of people doing the same thing. And not all of them are ham-fisted, mongos like myself.

That's my only reason for not using them, before I read this post I had never heard of any of the internet bashing of Fram.

Those are great, for cars you can get to it with :D The Taco would work, my '78 Z hybrid... *maybe* doubtful probably not. lol

Both are great filters... as is mobile 1. I'm rather indifferent to running any of them tbh.
