At work, 90% of our trucks are Ford. Anywhere from F150s - F350 super duties...although I've yet to figure out what the 'super' is referring to. They are only a few years old as well.

We take somewhat good care of them. They get all their standard services, oil changes and such at the proper times. But I would say 3/5 always have an engine light on.

I've driven about 8 different ones at work and not a single one has been a decent truck to drive. Not a single one had a working CD player. Other than that they each had their own special fuck ups. My favorite is either the one that violently shakes anytime it goes over 100 km/h on the highway or the one that can't accelerate up hills. I push the gas, the tac goes up to like 4-5k rpm but I still loose speed, even on the slightest inclines.

The few trucks we have that arent Ford are GMCs...and what a difference. They run great, are way faster, nicer interior and just better trucks all around.

well, I went to Ford today and they offered me 21k for the truck because all of the local dealerships are now unloading 2010 4WD DC 6 speeds for 23,900. F- that...I'll keep my truck.

On the good side, the 37,800 F150 was talked down to 28,040...but I wasn't going to take a 3,500 loss on my truck just to get a good price on a F150.

I hope there aren't anymore surprises from Toyota.

I feel you on buying a different truck. I think the tailgate is fine(i just loaded my atv, and that put a lot of stress on it, it did fine) even if it is kinda wimpy. My latest thing has been the weak paint. I have one scratch on the side of my truck from a bush! My dads Dodge has been through worse and came through with very light scratches. I also have a pretty deep scratch on the grill and chip on the hood from a rock being flung up. Toyota wanted $676 to fix it! Its 3 in long! The motors also kinda wimpy but its a V6 so its to be expected. If i were to switch id buy used so that you have some money to spend on it if you want to trick it out or if anything goes wrong. Also you might get more if you sold it yourself

Funny I had an F150, sold it to buy the Tacoma. The grass is rarely greener on the other side my friend. I had my share of problems with my 05 F150...

My 02 (Assembled in Canada) was a pretty good truck. I don't recall any significant issues. Anyway, getting the F150 down in the the 28K range is pretty good. Hopefully you gave the dealer your name and number. If they want the sale, they will call you back and sweeten the deal on your truck.

With all the issues with Toyota (don't matter what model) the vehicles are going to take a hit for a while. If your not going to sell it to a private party and you want the Ford, go make the deal and take that little beating like a man. Get um to throw in some Toyota Mats for the Ford. You'll love the truck.

"x2 I am a tranny rebuilder and ford's definitely keep my tools from rusting. Also i hope you like changing coil packs as ford built them waaay to ,how should i say this, shitty, yep that is the word i was looking for.LoL Also try gettin those plugs out of the fords 5.4l head. They actually make a tool that takes the broken off plug out. And if you are thinking about going diesel, well that's a whole other can of worms. Every manufacturer is hiding something, Toyota was riding to high so the media is knocking them down a notch. At least they are doing right by their customers, can not say the same for others. No reporting on their problem child vehicles i fix daily. Hey more work coming my way everytime someone buy's a truck from the big 3! Not downing anyone's ride, just stating the truth."

OK now ya heard it from a mechanic. By now it is pretty obvious the liberal leftist media is not accountable to anyone for truth-telling.

Ford fixed the plug issue in 2008.
But, yes, every manufacturer will have issues.
Toyota seem bent on screwing the value of anyone that bought a 2010.
