After the rear door starting to rattle and me getting pissed at the toy tailgate and 17 max mpg (55-60 mph) worse at 70-75 I have decided to trade for a F150. What should the trade-in value be? I paid 28K for the truck. F150 lists for 37,800. Has the hoola about toyota destroyed trade-in value? They are asking 4,200 difference.

Anyone want to buy my wet O. seat covers?:)

You're definitely going to take a hit by trading it in so soon, check out KBB to get an idea where you're at on the value.

I would think you would be lucky to get $25k without having anything tacked on at the back end of the deal.

I would never ever buy a new F-150! Your Coma now will be worth more than your future new F-150... about 3 years from now. The Coma shouldn't depreciate much since there are no real recalls. Just TSBs. BTW, do you really think the F-150 will get better mileage?

My advice would be to wait a few years...let this recall crap settle down. You'll take the biggest hit selling it so soon anyway, get some use out of it first. Before you buy that Ford F150, you might want to check out their forums. I've heard nothing but bad things about them. If you think you have troubles now...

it won't... and so what if it's bigger? i think that's the main reason you're getting the f-150 you want the bigger truck... keep the tacoma. you'll miss it when you realize how terrible that ford shit is.

    The F150 invoice,after rebates is around 31,500k I think.
So they are actually offering me over 26k. But take a hit I know I will. But a person can actually stand on the tailgate even if it is a big ol ugly truck.

No I do not think it will be getting better mileage. But I am going to get shit for mileage I may as well have more room, be able to tow a trailer, etc. I think the big v8 will get close to that of the tacoma.
The door rattle is noting, I fully expect the Ford to have such - but the tailgate did piss me off. It is the quality of a toy that should be on a child's pedal around the yard truck.

The door rattle is just that, no big deal. But the tailgate - easily fixed- Ah, so there IS an aftermarket tailgate. Please post the link to it.

My buddy just bought a brand new f150. 15mpg max. take it for what its worth. if the gas mileage is the reason you are doing it, you might want to re-think. good luck.
