My alarm just went off

    I'm sitting here in my computer, and suddenly my alarm goes off... i haven't moved the taco since last night.... what the hell? has anybody experienced something like this before? i just have the oem alarm, or keyless entry only....

    ok.... let me check on that.... i don't think its loose, the taco has only a week new.... but its worth a try... thanks

    This has happened to me 5-6 times (that I know about) in the last 18 months with the truck sitting in the garage with the door closed going crazy. I just stick the key in the ignition to stop it and then it might not do it again for months. My setup is like yours: OEM alarm, keyless entry

    Alarms are more of a nuisance than anything else...imo

    I don't know, but maybe somebody is trying to break in, and your alarm is doing what it was intended to do? Is your truck parked outside or in a garage?

    My 2002 tacoma did the same thing it would happen once or twice every month. It got to the point where I quit setting it at home and just used it when in a populated area. The dealer said they never heard of that before and of course it never did it while it was there. I also noticed that my truck only went off like that at night. Never once that I could recall during the day. I never found the problem and I had the truck for 6 yrs.
