Golden retriever has to be lifted in but he's 15...2 year old 110 pound yellow lab jumps right up. if your dogs are physically able to jump up my best idea would have to be a dog treat ha.

I have two 4 year old german shepherd females that jump right in the bed. I have both of their crates that fit perfectly side by side in the bed. They really love to go for rides, they always have. I have travelled with them on long trips. When I had an explorerer they were in the truck, you would never know they were in there. Only bad part about it was I had every window open since the AC didn't work.

I have a Pitt bull (75lbs) and a lab (60lbs). They have no problems jumping in the truck. The pitt gets lazy at times but other than that no issues. And I have a lift on the truck as well. I took one of those all weather carpets you see in office buildings, and cut it to fit the back of the cab with the seats folded down. That way the carpet collects all the dog hair from the lab and keeps the backs of the seats from getting scratched and muddy from the pitt.

TRAIN them to get in . . . . take some treats, give the command "LOAD UP" (or whatever command you want, just be consistant), and lift their front paws up on the lowered tailgate, repeating the command and BRIDE them in with treats. When they DO load up or try, praise them like they just saved the world. You may have to help them several times, but they'll get the idea quick. Dogs are smart, if they can get away with being picked up and set in the truck, that's how they will load.

I have a Maltese who just loves to go for truck rides. With my old 1998 Tacoma, she jumped in all by herself. But with my new 2010 Tacoma Pre-Runner she needs to be lifted in and out. No problem though... she's only 6 pounds.

Oh My God I thought I was the only one having this problem. I have a 50 pound Blue Tick and he jumped into the back seat one time so I know he can do it. but he absolutely refuses to do it on his own now. I have to keep picking him up and putting him in there. Its one thing if he was clean and not a sheader but you take him to the dog park and he gets all hot and sweaty rolling around with the other dogs and then I have to pick him up to put him in the truck! It just eats at me!

I have to lift my girl in and out. In my 89 Tacoma she could jump even with the lift but age and a blown ACL keeps her from jumping. No big deal except when she muddy or wet. The other pup can jump in and out and he's not mine just dog sitting.

My Mut about killed herself trying to get in. I was sitting up on the tailgate and she made a running jump and didn't get high enough. She fell back on her back. I felt so bad for her.

My lab has no problem jumping in the bed. Once the tail gate is down she is in. I know when she is older i will more than likely have to end up getting her a ramp.

Redline D6 tranny fluid. Redline gear oils in front and rear diffs. Bug shield and rain gaurds. Mossy Oak seat covers until I can afford the Wet Os.
My pit hops his happy little ass right in. Does 3 - 360 degree turns and plants it. Have to coax him out with a "treat".

That happens to my dog a least once a month. She's no worse for the wear.

My dobie jumps right in the bed, she's 87 lbs. I have the rear TSB.
The treats are a good idea. Also dogs will hesitate jumping in with a leach on. Take them about 10 feet away, take off the leach, and they will most likely jump right in, if they aren't too old or injured.

My bull terrier was scared at first, and then i got a squeaky toy threw it in and he went in after it. Now he just jumps in and drolls on the window till i put it down.
