I would buy, you can probably get a hell of a deal $$$ or 0%APR because of all the bull crap that is going on with Toyota. But when the storm passes and the sun comes out you will be left with one of the best trucks on the road.

This kinda makes me wonder, with all the devoted fan boys... How bad would Toyota have to mess up your truck before you become disappointed.

My Nissan Sentra blew a head gasket at 80k miles, it was reported on forums and other sites that the motor would blow gasket anywhere from 40-90k. Seems Nissan knew about the issue and instead of addressing it, they simply stop using that engine in following car models.

That 1 issue has made me decide, I will never EVER drive a Nissan again. I can only imagine how upset I might become when I get a tacoma plagued with a weak Bed,Rusty Frame, weak rear suspension, Unintended Acceleration, Cracked Drive-shaft, Abnormal RPM during shifts (M/T) and dirty premium mats because All Weather mats might cause a stuck pedal.. Or maybe I will just become a Fan Boy myself and deny all the issues :)

I picked up my 2010 2 weeks before the driveshaft recall. I was of course dissappointed to hear about the recall, but thinking about it with a clear head now, it's an easy fix, on a part that can be replaced and forgotten about.

if the recall was for a bad head gasket or other serious mechanical issue that will always leave you wondering when will it go next, or will it ever be the same? that would really suck, a bad forging that was identified quickly is far from a deal breaker for me.

go ahead get your new taco! (with new and improved ft driveshaft)

    + 0 % down!

Well, Im not a HARDCORE Toyota lover...I just like their Tacoma, Tundra, Fj. YOu know the Truck and SUV's...Other than that. I wouldn't drive one.

Now I was a hard core Fan Boy for Ford Powerstroke Diesels...LOL I'd drive one again but the cost to maintain those vehicals and they suck on the trails.

If you are so afraid of buying a Tacoma go buy your self a Ford Ranger, drive it for few years then come back to us "devoted fan boys" and let us know what you think!!!! (Just don't cry) There is a reason why you are already on TW, cause you know that Tacos are the best midsize trucks on the road!!!!

Even with the recalls and tsb's out there, Tacoma is still a better truck out there. My last truck was an 08' Hilux, when it was time to buy my 10' Tacoma I didn't even test drive it. I just told the dealer gimme a new Tacoma, no other truck was even an option.

I have to admit, there isn't any other midsize truck I am even considering. Tacoma or Nothing. For me its not really a matter of what but a matter of WHEN. Does that make me the worst kind of fan boy ? The kind that don't even have the product yet and already being bias. Im hoping the Tacoma will be as good to me as my uncles' 1984 4x4 Pickup that roamed the earth till last year when it was retired due to frame rot.

Probably the best in mid-sized trucks....might want to wait until production moves to Texas....can't see the soon to be laid off workers at NUMMI putting much effort into assembly. Not sure but maybe Texas has less stringent laws about solvent and paint so the paint jobs might be better too.

The only reason why I would not buy a 2010 is the fact that a 3rd gen is due in a year or two.

I love my new 2010 truck! And if the driveshaft breaks it's ok - I got new floormats so my brakes should work ;)

People are actually worried about a "Voluntary" recall? LOL!!! HAHA.. If it DOES have a crack, it is a 30min job to replace.

Enjoy your Tacoma, they are the BEST looking trucks on the market, and the most reliable to any truck, bar none.

My first Tacoma 1999 TRD, hands down best truck or car I had ever owned. It Had 222,000 miles, original clutch, rear breaks, even the light blubs. I took it in for all the service work not one problem.
My 2008 TRD Off road II is the worst auto I have every owned (and I have had a lot). From the first day water leaks, two blower motors, broken visor clips, bed on crooked. They just replaced the clutch. It was bucking or chatering when wet or damp out. Told the service manager he said they checked it and it looked new this was at 29K miles. At 33k blown, they towed it called me said $1200. Told them no way showed them my paper work so they fixed it. It has no inspection cover so they were lieing both times until they took the trans. out.
I had said I was going to sell it and go for the ford 150 SVT. No one wanted it with the blower motor making noise & the recall. So im keeping it just put on BFG AT/ TA/ KO's 265/75R 16. Huge inprovement over the half warn Rugged Trail crap it came with.
I like the Tacoma but it's just one think after another. I bet some people on this site have never had one problem. It's just luck of the draw. :D

If you look at that second link you posted, it only applies to 2004-2008 Tacoma's, and the first link only applies to 4x4 2010 Tacoma's. Trust me, you won't regret it.

I just picked up a 2010 DC AT last week. Did not know about the new recall. What's the recall for?
