Need help with replaced headlights!

the headlights that I replaced my factory headlights with are supposed be identical to factory lights, and as far as I can see, they are. they have been installed correctly and to the best of my ability, yet I'm having some trouble with the alignment of the lights and some focusing problems. If anyone has any ideas or experience with these headlights as to how I can adjust them please let me know...

There are two metal prongs on the back of each headlight with philip screw heads. One adjusts horizontal and one adjust vertical.

 

thanks guys. really appreciate it. different than the headlights that i've adjusted in the past. is it normal to have to move the battery and the reservoir to get to the adjustment screws?

if you have a long screw driver, you can follow the slot right above the adjustment knob. You slide right in and you can see the teeth of the knob. I think there is a white cap on the bottom knob where you have to remove it though.

think that i figured it out. lol

feel pretty retarded at the moment for what i was trying to do

 

okay. i've found the adjustment screws and i've fixed that sufficiently, now does anyone know why there is such a focused beam especially on the passenger side light? eventually i want HID 6000k conversion on them but right now, would the Sylvania Ultra bulbs reduce that beam effect that i have on both headlights?

The light pattern on the aftermarket lights does not appear to be as good as the stock HLs. My aftermarket lights were the same, each HL had a hotspot, and the light was not distributed very well anywhere else. While the lights look great, this was one of the main reasons I went back to stock.

As far as a PnP HID conversion, or any other bulb, I would think that the hotspot would just get worse as it's in the reflector, not the bulb (I tried a couple different bulbs myself, not HID though).

 

good to know. and it makes sense that the hotspot is from the reflector and not the bulb. youre right.

does anyone know anything about a conversion to a projector headlight rather than the reflection type unit? i want to keep similar housing but change the main headlight to a projector, i've seen it on a couple trucks but havent been able to find them since

 

Quite a few have done projector retrofits on here.

 

i have yet to find very many. if you know of some specific helpful projector retrofits that you've seen, please post some of the links. would be appreciated.

im just doing research btw. the project will likely happen this summer

 

The aftermarket lights use paint for the chrome inside your headlamp. OEM headlamps use actual metal for the light coming from the bulb to reflect off of.

 

thats a useful piece of information... wish i knew that would be a side effect of those lights before i bought them. thanks tho!
