    HEY TW,
I am a first time tacoma owner and since day one nothing but problems. Started with the truck having a leak at the timing cover. Paid 1200 had it fixed. Then i noticed that it jurked when coming to a stop and after realeasing the break. Had my tranny flushed and fixed that problem but now my tranny shifts hard between 1st and 2nd and then it feels like its slipping at times. I go to the dealer and they say "everything is fine." Really it's not and everytime i go to the dealer they say the same thing. Its fine, I always have to come to tw to get things figured out. anyways i think i might just sell my truck and get a chevy or something. Really im frustrated. Can someone talk me out of it. Or at least tell how i can solve this current issue with my truck? its an 06 a/t with 82k. V6 4.0L. It should be running like new but it runs worse than my bro's 96 camaro with 170k. Man that is just sad. You pay so much money for these damn trucks and this is what you get. Man toyota is really f%*$ing up. Sorry TW just needed to vent. I was also wondering of getting and extended warranty i dont know of any good ones, at an affordable price. Thanks TW.

Too bad you are having issues - I guess you got the runt of the litter.

On another note, I hope you have tough skin. Expect a rebuttal from the fanboys at any minute due to your low post count...

Did you join the forum to complain? Did you join to see if you could find a seller? Not sure why you haven't just sold it, if that's what you want to do.

    Anyway.....welcome....and thanks for your service.

Sometimes you just get bad apples. Prior to owning this 2010 TRD Sport, I had owned 3 F-250's. not all at the same time but one after the other and this last one i had, that i traded in for my Tacoma, which I love, gave me nothing but problems. EGR valve started leaking, took it in, turbo started leaking, took it in, Engine overhearting, took it in, transmission seal was cracked, took it in, finally power steering pump when out, took it in and that was the last straw. So I decided I am going to trade it in for a Tacoma, since I had been eye balling them anyways for awhile. anyway, my previous trucks never gave me any problems except this one. Sometimes you just get bad apples. I say Sell it and get yourself a new one.

Yea thats what i was thinking about. I might just get an 07 next.Ive been to two seperate dealers and both have said the same thing. "thats just how they are." I might just purchase an extended warranty becuase ive already invested too much. But then again this truck might turn out to be a money bucket.

If its giving you so many problems then sell it. Then give Toyota a 2nd chance and get your self a 2010 Taco. Every one gets a bad one here and there. But just because one girl cheated on you and was bad for you, that does not mean you have to be gay now. Point is that the Tacos are good trucks and it seems like everyone here stands behind them.

Its sounds like a good idea in theory, but I'm sure none of us wants to take a hit on a vehicle that was just purchased because a dealer couldn't diagnose and fix a problem. Its easy to tell another to sell it and buy new. After all, we aren't the ones taking a loss on the deal.

I was a GM guy for 25 years. That's all I would drive. Finally was able to afford my "dream truck", a new Z71 when GM had the first "Employee Pricing" deal. I went through an eight month Lemon Law battle with GM over that truck and I can tell you first hand that Lemon Law battles suck. GM finally conceded and gave me a brand new truck. At 7400 miles the front end went out on the replacement and it was replaced under warranty. At 37000 miles the front end went out again. It was replaced again under warranty since the first repair had extended my coverage. Sold it. Bought a Toyota. Been happy ever since. So, my point, they all break.
