Is this the right thread to be talking about lowering my driver's side seat? Bear with me, I am making my first post here. Would like better vis though and am tired of tipping my seat way back to get it. Any tips on how to 'get down' in my Taco would be wecome.

    no.
Start your own thread.. but.. There's no way to lower it. ITs already right on the floor, a common complaint actually.

Unless you swap out for a recaro or some other aftermarket... not really. You can push the mirror up about 2" though (on the 05 non backup camera it'll move up a fair amount) and help on that front. Otherwise... it's something you should have tested before buying the vehicle, or any vehicle for that matter.

I know there are recaros with airbags in them but they are 2000 or more a piece. Does anyone know off a recaro dealer in canada? I looked on the recaro site but didn't find one :(

I bought my TRD because of how comfortable the seats were.
I'm 6-3 at 290 so most seats don't fit me well....

What did you do for the factory airbag seat switches? Is there an override, or do those Corbeau seats have an airbag switch too? Ive been thinking of switching from my stock SR5 seats to the TRD seats if I can find a set. Those Corbeau seats look great.

just actually compared the two different type seats side by side and the trd seats fabric and cushioning definitely feels tighter and higher quality. Leather is nice only because it usually feels cooler and doesnt trap dirt, but most commercial leather seats dont grip you very well.
Supposedly the trd seats are water resistant? What does that mean...they scotchgaurded them?
Where I live it is HOT 6-7 months out of the year, and I like a fabric material that stays cooler so I dont sweat as much. I am in and out of my truck a lot during a normal workday, and even though it is a truck, theres nothing wrong with wanting a few extra modern comforts. Good comfy seats are a definite plus...truck or not.

I liked the TRD cloth better than the sr5 but at 220 and 5'11" the center seat pad is too hard. I added a 1/2" thick soft pad to the center of the seat and back. Better comfort and a work-around for the side pads being too high. Very easy to do. Take seats out then it is just clips. After driving trucks and operating heavy equipment for 30+ years I like a softer ride. Also changed Bilsteins for KYB. Sorry but anyone that says they want their truck to ride like a truck has never drove a '60's truck with no air ride and air seat. I know, 6000 miles in an old style truck meant you pissed blood for a few days.

Cam, my guess is that you probably drink coffee on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, or a glass of cold juice, ice cold water or eat spicy food frequently. The preceding are common causes of low back pain, of course there can be other foods that can do the same thing but those are the most common. If the preceding is correct than your low back pain is a result of referred pain from the lower abdomen which is irritated by those foods. Avoid the preceding and your back pain will probably disappear within about 2-3 months, saving you the expense of buying new seats. There is nothing wrong with your present seats. HTH.

SR5 60/40 split bench seats are garbage. I had all sorts of issues with my lower back from them. After I switched to Corbeaus, no issues. The new seat bracket is higher so I'm in an actual sitting position whereas the stock seats are super low where my legs were almost completely straight.

Okay guys I see the poll but what are the best aftermarket seats which I would equate with the best seats to put in our little trucks. How about air cushion seats? Help me out!!!

So I see some people like the SR5 seats better than the TRD's...anyone interested in trading seats? I have a 2012 with SR5 seats with side airbags.
