SUPER old thread revival but I came across your post while searching through Google.

Did you have any issues fitting the 2.5" I.D. over the muffler pipe? I always thought our piping was 2.5" also.

    I'm looking at getting a MBRP 2.5" I.D. to 3.5" O.D.

You need to cut tail pipe because tip will stick out to far leaving you the 2.5 in part .The tail pipe actually a little smaller than 2.5 (metric) . You can tighten down with clamp but I cut a pie piece out of old tail pipe and inserted between old tail pipe and new tip so could tighten down more securely . I ended up welding it but if you add that piece should secure good enough . With out other piece clamping maxes out as far as threads left on bolt .

Great thanks! So I assume you ended up cutting off the flared part at the end of the pipe? And it slid over the rest of the tailpipe with no issues?

Does my picture below make sense?

Correct. Mine was 12 inch long so depending on what length you buy will determine how much to cut . 12 in long one worked for me

Perfect thanks! That confirms that the 2.5" inlet will fit.

How far back did you cut? The one I'm looking at is a Black 2.5" Inlet x 3.5" Outlet x 12" long.

    Thanks again!
